Anybody heard of it? - Yes
what is it exactly? - A tune
is it a tune? a sensor? both? - It's just a tune
if i buy it who can install it. - It's a GM tune. You buy it from GM, and it requires your dealership to call the Tech Center to download it and flash it into your car
is E85 as well? - No
or only 100 octane? - 93 is okay on the street, 100 octane unleaded for the track
.

Does the 100 octane tune from GM void the warranty ?

Why not just use torco?
Seems like people here have been using that with good results.
No need to change the tune too.

Well...an octane booster will help when you're running the stock tune. However, the GM 100 octane tune has been designed to run even better with high octane gas.
I used to use Torco before I got the tune for my 2016, then I got the tune, used up the remainder of a couple quarts of Torco I had, and started trying some Boostane.
I think the car runs better with the tune and 100 octane gas.
The problem you may run into when running on the track is, if you run out of octane booster and don't have access to any unleaded 100 octane gas, you really can't run aggressively on the track without 100 octane.
It's okay to drive with 93 octane when doing easy street driving, but any aggressive driving after you install the GM 100 octane tune requires 100 octane gas - either pump gas with enough octane booster to get you up to 100 octane, or unleaded 100 octane race gas.
Below is info that came with my 100 octane tune:

Who else has done this? Also, I heard that this helps with some of our cooling issues. I would do this in a heartbeat, but I want to make sure if I run 93 octane it will run OK when driven easily with the occasional WOT 60-130 run.

I've had the GM tune for this 17 track season in my 2015. It is very noticeable at the track and I will guess 1.5 to 2.0 seconds benefit on a 3.4 mile track and 40 hp. Less power loss as the temps go up too. My M7 has never gone into any limp mode so it may or may not help with the heat issues.
The draw back, if your not running 100 octane with either race gas or Torco as I have used you will lose some benefits of other mods some have. Example, recently I ran a long straight along side a bone stock Z06 same year. We were both on 93 gas. I have a CAI, Borla exhaust and a few other tricks. Neither car was faster than the other from 30 to 120. If I was running 100 octane I really don't believe that would of been the out come.
If your not looking for or need a few extra ponies I would not waste the money.

what's the hp/tq gain ?
Warranty stays exactly the same as stock car?
also it helps the overheating ? just a little bit or.
waiting for 2017 to come out, should be good!

I have been running it on my 2016 a8.no track days, dont do that.run 93 most of the time,no problem.when I put the 100 in it you can notice the difference.fun to have ,keeps warrenty.before 100 tune fastest time for me on street with street tires 0-60 3.5,0-100 7.2,1/4 mile 11.6.after 100 tune with 100 gas.see results below,0-60 3.3,0-100 6.7,1/4 mile 11.2 at 133 mph.answer is yes it make a difference.this is a fact not a opinion by someone who has it.

so improvement from 11.6 to 11.2, that's pretty good for 300,400 bucks!!!
But needs at least 93 and I only got 91 here, also ain't out for 2017 yet, I will see. Also those torco do they affect warranty/engine at all?

For those who already have the GM 100 Oct. Tune...How does the car drive with 91 in it? I live in AZ and have access to 95 and 100 oct about 3-4 miles from my house...so no big deal...however, most of the state only has 91...so if I'm 'caught out' somewhere and need to fill up with 91...is that an issue? Not planning on this happening that often...but is it an issue? I also have a couple cans of boostane...but just curious IF there are noticeable issues with knock when using only 91? Thanks...

the shifts matched up with the audio almost at the same exact time. I guess you shifted early in few shifts.
