Default I soon end up in the ditch

Hello

My first post, Im am from Sweden so my english aint that great….
My car, Z06 from 08 with 13600 miles has a problem…

When I wot, it realy feels that the car ”sits” on just one rear side,
Like power only goes to one wheel.
If I release the cluch (is engine brake the word?) in (lets say) second gear at (lets say) 40-50 mph, It feels about the same, like one rear wheel ”retards” more then the other.

Could it be the diff? I have new oil (Motul 300LS 75w90) in the diff.
Culd it be one bad rear absorber?

New lower controlarms ar mounted and other bushings are fine.

Hope you understand my ”swenglish”

Best regards Lofke

You say there is new oil in the diff. Did it act this way before the new diff oil?

If not, the first thing to try is to go to a parking lot and do some slow speed turns in the shape of a figure 8. This works the dif clutches and works the new fluid into the dif clutches so the "limited slip" does it's job and locks up when you put the power to it.

It was the same before I change the oil. One thing I have notice is that with a passenger in the car, it feels slighty better.

What tires are on the car? Condition? Mileage? Age?

Has an alignment been performed?

What are the condition of the shocks? Verify that a shock hasn't failed and is properly mounted/bolted in.

What drive mode are you in? Full nannies? Comp mode? All nannies off?

Can you tell us why there are new lower control arms? Kind of an unusual mod???

How long have you owned this Z or do you know the total/recent history of it?

I (the workshop) replaced lower control arms (GM-original) becouse I thought the bussing were old (they were fine btw), I also know hole history of the car and have all (workshop)papers since new. Two older gentlemen before me (and I am 54....). I have only owned it for 3 mounth. Looking back, I think I felt this when I bougt the car, but I did not "press the pedal" that much then...

Taking a wild guess here, but could the brake caliper be engaged/stuck on the wheel that feels like it is being prevented from turning?

I don't think so, The brakes would get hot, and they don't. Tanks anyway

Does it just "feel" that way or is it actually that way? Go to an empty parking lot and do a short burnout and see if both tires are spinning or not.

The tires are Michelin PSS 345/30-19 made in middle 2015 in good condition. Alignment is recently done. The shocks looks fine (no leaks) but
the suspension is so stiff so its hard do a test "the old fashion way" by pushing the rear end down.
I will try to explain how bad it is: Its really scary to do a overtake, it is really like only one rear wheel has ALL the power if I "gear down" and wot.
One side of the rear goes down and the other side stays up....just imagine
how awkward that feels....
I will try to do a small burnout and look if there is one or two piles of rubber....

Find a Swedish C6Z owner and let him drive your car. Ask him to decide if his car and your car seem to react the same, to the same inputs, and let him tell you what he thinks, and what he thinks you should do to resolve the problem.

Have to ask, checked for any code(s) to rule-out possible faulty system/component?

FWIW, your English is better than most Englishmen.

On my way home from work today, I went to "my" workshop, they have 40 years of experience of American cars, I took the owner for a ride and he said its something seriesly wrong...They will check it next Wensday.
I am still interested of what you think it could be or if somebody have had something like this problem

You have to have an OBDII code reader to do that.

Something like this, although there are MANY to choose from:

Lofke, check for code(s), just check to rule 'em out.
Car might be pointing to issue while you're chasing phantoms.

OBDII port, under steering column.
Plug-in a reader, see if anything's there.
Better yet, ask your shop do it.

Codes are an invaluable aid troubleshooting C6 issues.
Make use of 'em.

An update...

Replaced both rear shocks today but my problem remains.

I will try try to explain the problem in other words:
If i wot (or at least "half wot") its like one rear wheel "grip" direct and the other wheel has a delay of a second (or more) before (smoothly) grip.

This means that one (rear) side of thecar crouch when wot.
This is not a pleasant experience, trust me, its that bad...

So..its not bushings, its not shocks, its not alignment.
Could it be the tires? Michelin pss 345/30-19 made middle 2015 and in good condition. I have read some awful things of this tires but I think it was
older (earlier) tires? Anyway I can't imagine that tires can do this.(?)

Another thing I have notice is: If i am in a "long turn" (often found getting on and off highway) and "giving som throttle" it feels awkward, imagine if both wheel spinns with exactly the same rpm although you are in a "long turn" (can't find better words...)

I will never be a professional explainer...Realy hope this make some kind of sens to you

BTW I live in Sweden in a town called Husqvarna (yes Husky bikes..)
27000 persons here and 3 Corvette../Lofke
