Default looking for advice

first of all,

i am looking at buying a 2007 c6 with 39000 km on . they are asking $30000. is that a good price. no accidents and has carproof.

second of all,

how bad or good would this car handle in the winter in Calgary?

You might convert for us simple Americans:

24,200 miles

$23,800

With the conversion, that is a fair price. If the car is really fine, it would be a good deal.

Other RWD cars will (usually) track better in snow or ice than the Corvette. The very wide tires, and light weight of the vehicle, don't help matters. Certainly, many folks on this forum drive their cars in northern winters with no problems. I'm just saying it is not your standard RWD vehicle.

Seems like fair price if super clean. Keep in mind you could find an 08 with LS3 and low mileage for couple grand more probably. I grabbed my '10 Grand Sport, manual, in Calgary a year ago...one owner, mint with 25000 kms and it was $42k.

Oh and I think you're crazy to entertain driving a nice Vette through Calgary winter. But that's just me.

It's a fair price price, but not a "good" price.

seems like a fair price, and I have a friend here who is physically handicapped and unable to use his legs who daily drives a C6 coupe here in the Motor City. Installs winter tires and wheels, and usually gets it around without too many issues unless the snow fall is a large amount

23k is for a low mileage car like that is a GREAT price. Anyone disagreeing didn't pay attention to it being loonies not us dollars, and km not miles.

You can get all season tires for the c6, but I don't know about winter tires. It's very difficult/expensove to add remote start to them. I don't know that anyone has done a block heater. They are very picky about tire sizes front to back. All of these could be issues for driving it as a DD in Calgary. If you had a heated garage both at home and work, then it's something that is even considerable, but if not, it's just not feasible.

Price is fair for a 3lt, 1lt, no.
As for Calgary winters....remember one we just had? The most snow in years. With all the salt and gravel they put down, your paint would get trashed. Also skinny snow tires would be a must.
Corvettes are not designed for heavy snow....get a winter beater.

I drove my 07 coupe in North Dakota for 6 years but not in deep snow. I had Michelin AS2s on all 4 corners and it got around pretty good so long as you don't speed and are careful with the go pedal.

Personally I think the car is too light and the tires are too wide for snow and icy conditions. Rain is ok, but then I don't like to get the car that dirty.
