Default Any excuse for a road trip! Who else is driving their C6 to view the total eclipse?

Any other 'Totalitarians' out there?

The missus and I are on the way from Springfield Oregon to Dubois Wyoming. Renting a cabin on the river with friends. Should be a good time regardless.

Glad to be out of Oregon right now. I guess a few million people from California and Washington are flocking in.

Not for the eclipse but we are driving to Vegas for one night (3-!/2 hours each way) this weekend just to take a cruise.

Nope, mine are stick, and I don't want to deal with the traffic in them. Will take the truck or Rogue

Local news showed video of the traffic jams already snarling traffic in Central Oregon. That's why I am staying home and watching from my front yard.

Looking forward to your photos Jeff.

Not driving my C6 (she's too old to take really long distances anymore), but I am taking my C7 to Columbia, SC to view the eclipse on Lake Murray.

Sort of last minute plans (two days ago). I hope the traffic isn't terrible.

We're going to see what the traffic via gmaps & waze looks like early Monday morning. Figuring all the out of town folk should be rolling in over the weekend. We'll see about back roads up towards Philomath. We only need about 15 miles to hit the totality.

If traffic is half as bad as the media reports I'll just head to work like a normal day

too old? how so?

sure take the new car but I don't see how a maintained car can't be driven anywhere.

I'm just trying to be kind to her at her advanced age. She's a tough old broad, but even she has her limits, and every extra mile at this point….

Why take her on a what will probably be 1500 miles when all is said and done, since I have a newer one to take? If she was the only one I had, I would be taking her. This is also a location to which Mr.owc6 and I have taken both Vettes (at the same time) more than once.

Thanks Bud!

I have a bottle of Jose, Margarita mix, triple sec, a fresh lemon in the fridge, and plenty of salt. I hope it holds out until Monday.

Got the county fair going on next door, literally next door, and there's too much deep fried food to eat!

Don't need no stinkin' eclipses!
