1967 BB Automatic Sid-Pipes Cars How Many?
I've always liked a 67 big block with a power-glide. How many did they make with side-pipes? Do any forums members have one?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Common practice would almost dictate an automatic buyer would have additional comfort options, possibly an older or female purchaser. I doubt the loud side pipe addition would fit their thought process. Maybe the classic looks of the big block hood and side pipes convinced the buyer. More likely with a four speed I would venture.
It would not be an out of the ordinary switch. My 64 coupe was changed to a side pipe car ( new GM system and rear panel ) just prior to storage in 1984. I have the factory rear panel that was stored inside the car. The parts department dispensed tons more than the factory mounted in production. I don't see the significance ( value ) of a survey of factory vs add ons.

I have my 63 but I think if the right 67 BB auto comes along I might let the 63 go.

These cars definitely exist, though I don't have the production figures. Somebody else might have it.
A few years ago I helped a member here acquire an original engine '67 427/390 that had originally had an auto (converted to 4 speed years ago) and side exhaust. It's a Sunfire Yellow no radio car that had been off the road for many years after a crash. He was going to restore it, and I don't know what his plan was after that. Definitely a 427/auto/side exhaust car.

After returning from SEA in 1968 I sold my 396 67 Chevelle and bought a
67 400, PG C60, Side exhaust car from a Chevy dealer in the Pittsburgh
area. This was a silver/black convertible loaded with options. Sold it in 1970 for 3000 dollars to buy my first house. Priorities I guess.

Thanks for your help Todd, that was a cool car, radio delete, 390 and pipes. Left the 4-speed in it although original glide car.

In the early 70s I was working for a Chevy dealer in the used car dept and we took in a '67 green with white stinger 427/400 power glide with side exhaust. If a remember correctly it had P/S and P/brakes and definitely no A/C.

Nothing in the 3-7 era has the class of a red on red 63 coupe ( personal opinion of course ). I have a black on black 66 BB car and don't see the fuss about the 67s. Nice cars, end of the line styling, handy emergency brake stuck in the middle, but the roar of huge cylinders must be attached to a gear box. 66 or 67, like choosing brands of potato chips. The rounded style BB hood also my favorite ( 65-66 ) . Where they went with square lines on ( the 67 hood ) a basically coke bottle design has me guessing . It wasn't even functional !

In the late 70's, I bought a lindale blue 67 coupe in California with 427, Powerglide, side exhaust, A/C and K19 A.I.R. As I remember, the original car shipper that came with the car showed the side exhaust.
By the time I got back to Illinois, I never wanted to own another coupe with side exhaust.
