C6Z vs C7Z
In a straight line 1/2 mile race is the C6Z faster than the C7Z? I have yet to see a video showing a C7Z out running a C6Z. The C6Z always wins.

I raced a stock C7Z several times at a 1/2 mile event (wannaGOFAST) at Clayton, GA (4000' DA). His traps were 148mph or so. About the same as stock C6Zs in attendance. I trapped 167mph at the event.
It would be very close in the half mile. I hope someone posts a video.

I agree with Josh B. this has been my experience also. I have participated at the Texas Mile and Houston 1/2 Mile and the stock C7 Z06's were coming in at high 140's right along with the stock Z07's.

At the 1/2 mile here, they are about the same. Maybe a slight edge to the c7z, depending on aero stage and tranny. The stage 3s run noticeably slower than the no aero cars.

Hey, you're having way too much fun!
Thanks again for the winter mods thread. Tonight I used it as a template to run the wires forward through the console area and set up the Auto-Blip controller under the console lid. Tomorrow the seat comes out and wires get tapped into place- I hope.

its funny you mention this. i road race my car. front stretch i hit 150.
and ive noticed i can keep up and even real in C7 z06s on the front stretch. now i do have a cam, but it doesnt make up for the extra 135hp of there super charger.
now in RR driver skill play a big part, where drag it doesnt.
but ive often wondered if it is the extra drag of all the c7Z06 aero that allows me to real them in. i know the magazines tested the c7Z with and without the rear spoiler and it was a significate difference. and if youve ever seen the C7Z spoiler its no wonder damn thing litterally stands straight up.

The C7Z weighs more and has the additional aero drag. The huge off the line torque advantage of the SC doesn't mean much when shifting at redline either. And then you have the heat generated by the SC on a race track...
