Gas Mileage-No BS Please
I have a 2015 Z51 manual coupe. I drive it mostly highway miles and row through the gears a bit on on ramps. I judge the flow of traffic and don't rush up to a light and slam on my brakes. I have 13K on the car and from day one I have been getting about 19.6 MPG with a average speed of 30 MPH. I don't idle the car a lot just a bit on a cold start to get the oil flowing a bit. Is something wrong with my car or is there a lot of BS about gas mileage? Had another discusion about gas mileage with a bunch of Vette owners this week and a couple of guys with C7 Zs were claiming average mileage of 30MPG. Other Stingray and Z51 owners were claiming 25+ combined MPG. I got about 22 MPG on my C5 and 20 on my C6. C6 LS3 ran 12.6 @ 117 in the quarter so I think the car was running strong. I really don't care what I get for mileage but want to make sure nothing is wrong with my car. No one seems to want to admit they get under 25 MPG in a C7. Is it BS or something wrong with my car. Thanks, Mike BTW, use top tier 93 gasoline. Usually Shell

Most of my miles are highway, and when primarily that, I get around 26 MPG. When I check confined to shorter runs in town, average about 19. But that includes a lot of stoplights, etc.
My "combined" equals or exceeds your other friends 25+ only if the miles skew more towards highway.
Difficult to address your question because we all have different driving styles. Lead foots, or conservative. Have another friend who learned to drive on mountainous curvy roads. He grew up on keeping the gears low. He keeps the same mentality on our long Interstates. With 7 gears available, he won't shift out of 5th at 80 mph!!!
You can hear the motor sucking up the fuel!!

In my commute I average 21 mpg, with about a 50/50 mix of city/hwy, and while I don’t “drive it like I stole it”, I do enjoy some “brisk” acceleration a few times a day, as I love the feel of running it up a little through the gears. Ahhh, the joy of a manual transmission!!!
On trips that are 99% interstate, I can easily get 26-27, maybe a tiny bit more if I keep it under 80. I’ve never averaged above 28. Big difference between an average mpg and seeing an “instant” number pop up on the display for a minute or two.
2014 Stingray w/manual transmission.

I drove from Tallahassee, Fl to St. George Island last Sunday and back along coastal highway (the scenic slow route) and averaged 30 mpg. When I drive city (to and from work, around town) I average 19. 2016 Z51 vert.

BTW, I've found that the mileage calculator seems to be about 1 mpg higher than what I calculate at the pump.
HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

Look at fully.com. That will give you excellent statistics for the car.

I average about 15-17mpg. I am mostly city and my car never sees 4 cylinder mode. I am used to high reving sports cars and cannot stand driving this car like a granny. If someone is averaging 25mpg+ they are either driving tons of highway miles at cruising speeds or they should have just bought a 4 cylinder sports car.

Fuelly.com listed 2016's were the best @ 21 mpg. Most of the other years reflected an average of 19 plus mpg. Corvette owners tend to not worry about gas mileage as much as the owners of your gas sippers such as Honda Civic and Accord as well as Toyota Prius and Corolla.

I have gotten close to 50 mpg in seventh gear and eco mode around 70 mph on the highway and get in the 20's while driving normally.
My daily driver is a Prius, so I think it's hysterical the a vette can get mpg like that! (My commute is 122 miles and four hours, so don't judge).

When people say they are getting 30 or so mpg, that is probably highway mileage. My 2016 A8 gets 31 mpg on a road trip. Average is probably 25. Sounds like you have a good excuse to take a little road trip. Good luck.

^^. Me too. About 21 on day-to-day, but 27 on my last longer drive. Still amazed--460 hp and this kind of mileage!

My Z51 2014 vert will easily return very high 20s, and will dip into the 30s on the highway using eco mode and staying around 70-75. This is steady state driving. Around town driving however, is a much different story. If I am on town roads exclusively, I get 14 or so. And I do check all the time....I'm a data guy...

I have a base 2017 M7 convertible, my MPG averages 19 to 26 depending on highway or city driving. My previous 2014 equipped exactly the same averaged about one MPG more (go figure). My driving habits; normally shift around 2,500 rpm and operate through all the gears as appropriate selecting a cruise RPM of approximately 1,300/1,500 selecting gears as required to achieve per MPH. On the last outing I operated on major highways in hilly terrain, speeds 55 up to 97 MPH and achieved 25 MPG.
