What caught my attention was when he mentioned overheating. Maybe that's why it's parked. Engine maybe gone not just the computer like he is hinting. He had plans to fix but not so quickly noticed the mounting problems. So he lets it rot for 6 years. His price is way too high.

if it really is a m6 1996, then it is a LT4. if the engine wasn't hurt and the steel is not rotten, then it could be the basis for a nice ride.

He can keep his high mile "Gem".
Way more trouble than it worth, its gonna need thousands thrown at it even if the engine is sound;a quick glance and you can find at least 4k in needs alone, 8-10k can put you in an 80k mi C5

seeing as the LT4 has different crank machining (fillets instead of sharp corners) than the lt1, the heads, sodium filled valves, roller rockers, etc, along with the M6 and D44 rearend, there is 4000.00 worth of parts right there.
if I had 4 and it was bit closer, my A4 1996 would be on its conversion journey

Wouldnt give more than parts car price if that you dont know what it does or doesnt need. Few thousand more can get you a decent running
one. Most cars as you know in person look lots worse than the pics; lots of these sell for cheap cause they cost too much to fix, one after the other buys em thinking they can do it cheap.

I would look at it if it's not too far. It's an LT4 with a cool color. A lot of times these postings end up being complete junk but you never know. You can always run after looking at it. I just looked at a C3 last week. Could have been good except seller failed to mention mice had destroyed the interior. People are great

It is a total gamble.
If it was running, you could check out if the motor/clutch/transmission/etc still work or if they are total junk and whether it drives OK or not, etc. If everything needs repairs, this could be a money pit to wind up with at best an average or poorer car. However, it is not running and he said it had problems, so I would expect a lot of problems. If most of it is bad, it might not even have that many good parts to part it out to break even.
On the other hand, an LT4 6 speed car can be really nice.
It is just a gamble if you get luck or not. Personally, I would pass unless he would let me check it out further.
