need some advice - thinking about selling my C4
So an opportunity has presented itself and I am thinking about selling my C4. So I need your help on putting a price on my C4 (which is my pride and joy).
The car is question is my 96 CE convertible LT4. It has just over 28 thousand miles and is in perfect running order. It has a new water pump, radiator, hoses, knock sensors, shocks, clutch master cylinder, rims and tires. I also have the OEM rims with tires. I also have most of the OEM parts that were replaced, listed above.
I will post some more pictures later today.
Thanks for reading.

An LT4 car with super low miles, I think you could reasonably see around 15k, maybe a bit more depending on options and if someone REALLY likes it. I think the trick would be finding someone who wants that exact car, especially at the end of the season in the north.

Upper teens as an asking price. You decide what it can be negotiated down to, but you should not have to go lower than $15,000 for what you describe. The timing is bad right now for a 'vert but you never know who is looking. I can see someone looking for a 'vert to cruise New England during the fall colors coming up.
*** If there are 'issues', or if the title is not clear, or a/c not working, etc... then you will have to adjust downward.
GLWS!!

The same 15 or so C4's have been on craigslist since last winter and the asking price keeps going down and down. The OP's car is obviously a CE and has very low miles, but cars with 80-90k on them that are the same year are asking price of 7-10k and don't sell.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I do know it is the wrong time of year to sell any type of Corvette in the Northeast area. Thankfully I don't have to sell it so I can hold onto it until next year if I don't find someone to buy it. We (wife and I) are putting both of the Corvettes (her C6 and my C4) up on Craigslist for sale. If they sell then great, if they don't then there is always next year I guess.
If any of you in the NE area are looking for a great running Corvette, then let me know. I will always entertain offers from CF members.
For some reason I can't post pictures at the moment. Trying to figure that issues out.
Thanks again guys.

Do they actually sell for that? I see C5's listed in the teens and they sit on car lots.

My 93 is anything but crap. Been for sale just under 6 months sadly. Right at 83k miles, auto, z07 asking 8,200 obo. My dad and I buy and sale cash cars on the side. They sell somewhat fast, but I think that is because they are under 5k. We've had pos cars that sold in a day.

For either one of us, and I'm sure there are others, if you put a $16,000 30,000 miles Collector Edition C4 next to a $16,000 C5 with the same mileage, condition, etc... we would take the C4. Pricing does not equate to certain models as the buyer's wants and needs can be quite different. Some buyers are willing to pay large money for clean C3 cars and don't want a C4. Same idea. The OP will get his money. He is not in a rush.

It will take a bit, but if you are patient you might find someone looking to pay top dollar. IMO the C4 is a niche market. You might consider putting the car on consignment to a classic dealer. My buddy works at a local one to me and they get C4s every now and then. He just sold a 40th anniversary with 30K miles for 13K.

IMO, Craigslist is a great place to advertise a car. It's a terrible place if you want to actually sell a car. I think half of the theory that C4s are valueless is due to craigslist. Most people on there are looking to steal something, not pay a fair and reasonable price.
IMO if you want to actually sel them, put them on ebay or autotrader or the FS section here.

Not everyone. Many buyers do NOT want a C5 for various reasons. For me, I already had an LS1 in my T/A and didn't want another similar engine or car. After driving a C5, way too close for my personal taste. I also wanted something a little different, like a Collector Edition, to stand out a bit at the cruise-ins and shows I attend. A generic C5 just blends in. I also enjoy the older feel of the C4 as it reminds me of my old Firebird Formula LT1 and others. My neighbor is looking for a clean C4 as well for many of the same reasons. He is NOT interested in any C5.

I won't sell it, Keep it. I made a mistake many many many years ago and sold a 62. I never made that mistake again and that is why I have 4 of them now. If you sell it you will definitely regret it later.

A friend recently bought a C5z for 15k. It had 75k miles, some pretty decent wear on it, and he has spent at least another thousand on it fixing things. He has done the work on it, so that was a major cost savings too. It's still not perfect either. It's a decent driver quality car though. Oh and it's the 385 hp version too. And not in a desirable color.
