Worth getting non-polarized glasses to see the HUD?
I'm planning to get prescription sunglasses ground and am wondering if I should forego polarization in order to be able to see the HUD better.
I know when out boating on the water, polarization is a HUGE win and I wouldn't want to give it up out there, but what about on the road?
Anyone have experience going back and forth between polarized and non-polarized glasses?

Yes I have ventured out without the polarized on. Comment still stands.

I have prescription sunglasses which are definitely polarized and I have no problem seeing the HUD at all. Guess it depends on the manufacturer.
Get what you want, try 'em out, and if you can't see the display, you can always return them and get a different pair.

My C-5 HUD is a lot harder to read than the C-7s is.
non polarized will make a small difference with the C-5.
I believe that the ride height of the driver does affect the HUD view ability.
The C-7 HUD is much improved.

Risk your eyesight to read your HUD. Hmm?

I have prescription polarized glasses and can see the HUD. Sure, it is not as bright, but still viable.

I wear glasses 100% of the time: non-polarized readers; non-polarized for distance; polarized sunglasses. Other than the sunglasses are tinted (i.e. darker), polarization doesn't seem to make difference in seeing the HUD.

I have both polarized and non-polarized Serengeti Drivers. Non-polarized are much easier to read the HUD.
As an airline pilot, I don't wear polarized sunglasses on the flight deck, as they interfere with reading some of the instrumentation, and the rainbows they make in the windows is annoying.
There is no additional eye protection provided by polarization.

Oakley prescription polarized, here. No issues at all with seeing the HUD. Only thing is that the text goes from yellow to an almost blueish white (I actually prefer it with the glasses on).

I currently have polarized and yes you can see the HUD, but not nearly as well. Google it on these forums, you get a ton of people asking why they cannot see it well and the answer is always the same, polarized glasses. But it doesn't make it invisible, that's not what I meant!
As for "risk your eyes", polarization is a comfort thing, not protection.
