i just bought my friends premier edition c7. since it's an early c7, other than the overheating issue, is there anything else i need to be aware of regarding issues with early c7s? couldn't seem to find much doing a search.
Well I assume its a 2014 Did you get Automatic Tranny. Hope it is an A6. Not much trouble with the A6...later A8 are a nightmare. Major repair if the torque converter goes bad. If manual tranny pretty much bullet proof.

yes it's a 2014. the premier edition basically introduced the c7 to the public. the car has a manual tranny. as far as i can tell, there have been no tsbs or recalls.
First of all, congratulations on your C7 purchase!!
There really aren't a lot of issues with the first C7s. Chances are you'll be in great shape. The occasional screen/electronic issues, but they're in the minority.
If you have an A8, IMO this trans is not a nightmare in general. It has been an issue for a minority of owners, and I'm not discounting their frustration at all - I wouldn't be happy either, and I feel for them. But the majority of A8 owners have had zero issues. We own lots of cars - always have. We've got 4 A8's, including 2 in '15 model year cars and 2 C7s. We've had zero issues with them. Great trans for us. But I'm a realist and know that one of more of them may barf at some point. If they do, I'll get the TC replaced and drive on.
I don't worry about this stuff - just enjoy my cars, and especially C7!! If something happens (like the a/c compressor needing to be replaced in our GS at 100 miles), I just take it in, get it fixed, and continue to enjoy.
I have owned one since March and it has been trouble free and a blast to drive. Every once and a while I get the urge to move up a couple of model years to a GS but then I think why, this has everything I could ever want and the performance is the same as the new ones. I may reconsider when I see what the new orange color looks like. I have the M7.

this is my seventh vette including two c5 z06s and this one is the nicest one yet! enjoying the hell out of it so far. having driven these cars for over 26 years, i know **** happens. just trying to get out ahead of any common issues.

An 2014 automatics were A6. The A8 was introduced with the 2015 model year. There were 500 coupes and 450 convertibles.

I've owned our Premiere Edition since 3/31 of this year; she's got a bit more than 91K miles on the odo today. I've not had any problems with her, other than buying gas, frequent washing cycles, and tire wear.
I've not heard any overheating issues unless you're talking about tracking the car. In that case I've heard of auto trannys overheating, just like every other torque-converter equipped car on the track.

there were 550 Premiere Edition Convertibles. I have number 19.
to the guys with premier editions, i was cleaning the car today and noticed a couple spots on the dash where bubbles have formed. don't know if the top of the dash is leather or vinyl, but bubbles have formed in two spots. anyone else have the problem? if you did, what did you do about it?
I think you'll be pleased. I looked for a nice Premiere Edition convertible for two or three years to replace my C6, finally locating one with less than 5000 miles - virtually a new car. I love all the nice features the Premiere Edition includes, and the Lime Rock Green / Brownstone interior combination was exactly what I wanted, mirroring the color combination of my first new Corvette, a 1972 LT-1 roadster in Elkhart Green/Dark saddle interior. The A6 transmission is well-known to be virtually trouble-free. I can't even begin to tell you the number of compliments I get with this car, especially the color. While I don't have the higher performance level of a Z06, I find I don't miss it. Enjoy your car, and don't forget to wave!
