Default Classic Torq Thrust II Polished

I am thinking about taking the 15" rims, spinner hubcaps and white walls off of my '65 convertible (w disc brakes) and storing them in the garage and replacing with a set of Classic Torq Thrust II Polished wheels in either 16" or 17". I was wondering if anyone else out there is running either size on their '65 (w discs)/66'/67' C2 and, if so, what width wheel and what size tire they have been able to run with no issues. Thank you for any recommendations you can give.

Very weak answer. Forums about interaction. Not being sent out to look something up. Offering the reference was one thing, but the way you did it was wrong.

Nothing wrong with what he did. He didn't have to take the time to do that. If you are looking to be coddled you are on the wrong web site my friend.

He supplied an answer. You did not. Which post was more useful to the OP?

I don't have a '65 to give you any help with the size, but consider chrome vs polished. I have chrome on my '32 Ford Panel Delivery. I had Budniks on it and the Torq Thrust made it look like a completely different vehicle. I think they look great on about any vehicle.

I think we have quite a few guys running 17" wheels vs 16 as there are more performance tire choices in 17".

I have 235/50 R17 on mine. Fit fine up front. Probably could have (and wish I had) gone wider in back.

I purchased a set of 15x8's from a forum member who ran them on his 65 or 66. I decided to stay with my original wheels but,per the previous owner, they worked fine.

Thanks everyone for the responses. After looking through everything, it looks like I should be able to run the 16's or 17's with the size tires I want (most likely 225/55R17 or could go with the 16's with 235/60R16).

P.S. Nice looking red vette!

seems like a lot of folks like to go with either a 16" or 17" inch wheel, they look great and do afford greater choice in tire size, but im kind of stuck on 15" wheels and tires, more sidewall, years ago I saw an ad for American racing that had a silver SWC with chrome TT mounted on black walls, the rime size along with the backspacing was listed in the ad, the car looked amazing and I decided that look was what I wanted, I ordered the wheels and had diamond back tires make a set of Gold lines for them, i don't remember the tire sizes off hand i would have to look at the inner tire for the size (diamond back shaves the outer lettering to vulcanize the gold line on) Shortly after i installed the combination i felt there was too much chrome so i had the center 5 spoke powder coated gray and added the American racing spinners, i think its a great look .

It never gets mentioned, but it also depends on how low your car sits. I have 215x50x17 on the front and 225x50x17 on the back. I tried to go with 225's in the front, but my car sits too low and I was worried about the fender hitting if I were to hit a bump while turning.

your car looks fantastic, because your car sits lower those 17" fit the wheel well nicely.

I agree with you on the 15" wheels. They look better. The 16 and 17's make them look like a boy-racer hot wheels car.

It all comes down to personal preference, i think we all played with hot wheels at one point.

Gavin65 those spinners really look nice on the Torq Thrust. I wonder if anybody has put them on the polished wheels?

Im sure someone has them on polished TT's, for me, I just thought it was too much bling and it needed to be toned down, again we all see things differently.

I regret my post #3 above. It was wrong. I wanted to make a point and it did not come out right. Certainly, I did not mean anything personal or insulting to anyone. Again, I was wrong.
