Default RennStand by Safe Jack

Came across these jack stands that look quite interesting.

https://safejacks.com/collections/fr...d-by-safe-jack

I am looking for something to lift my cars for rotating tires. I have ramps to use for oil changes or any other time I want to roll under the car. I trust ramps far more than jack stands when I am under the car, especially with proper placement of wheel chocks to keep the car on the ramps supported by the tires.

Four of them will get all four tires off the floor.

Does anyone have experience with this product?

What makes these better than a service jack and jack stands? I guess I could go read the website

The lift is at the same point as the jack stand.

With a service jack and jack stands, you must lift and place the jack stand in another location.

New vehicles do not give a lot of choices for lift and support locations.

There is a video at the link provided in Post #1.

Looks like a fantastic idea to me, and safer than conventional jack stands.

Those look pretty good but for a little more, I think I like jackpoint stands better.

Has anyone seen a piece designed to fit between the jack arm and jack frame that essentially locks the jack so that it cannot be lowered once this piece is in place.

I know I saw one somewhere but cannot remember where, or who makes it.
I have thought about doing that just to have a little extra security without having to place jack stands.

ZL1 Addons makes this one for the Harbor Freight jack:

I bought one but don't use it. The jack needs to be at nearly the max height for it to be installed. When I am using this jack, I am typically just jacking 1 corner up just enough to get a wheel off.

The thought of getting under a car supported by not one, but four, HF jacks scares the sh*t out of me. For four HF jacks used at the same time, the probability of failure must be close to 100%.

I bought one because it was fairly cheap, for when I want to raise 1 corner and have no jack stand, but like I said I don’t need the jack full height when lifting 1 corner, so I have never used it other than the first time to test it. I agree, I would not use 4 instead of stands. I have a QuickJack if I want the car fully up.

That's the one I remember, but I am like you, I only want to raise the car just enough to remove wheels, reach drain plug ,etc., and it would be nice to use the jacking points and just be able to lock the jack..
Just some way to keep it from going all the way to the ground if a wheel is off... Found several designs including holes in the frame where you just insert a locking pin through the frame... Not sure why no one ever built any of these...

Even the little tire dollies I got have a pin to insert in the frame in case of hydraulic failure...

Even a block across the frame rails or strategically placed under the lift arm where it cannot slip out would be better than nothing to keep jack from going all the way to the ground.

The small HF jack lets you jack the car high enough that three wheels come off the ground and you can place jack stands across the front cradle and one side of the rear cradle. Moving diagonally across the car to the jacking point in the rear of the frame lets you get the fourth jack stand under the other side of the rear cradle. Quick and easy, especially when pressed for time changing brakes between sessions at an HPDE.

These rennstands by safe jack in the OPs post were originally designed for the newer Porsche vehicles (by a rennlist forum member). Porsche decided to design the cars so they you could only place a jack stand at 4 locations which are the same place you need to place a floor jack at. Makes it almost impossible to get the car up on 4 jack stands.

With the corvette there are plenty of places to jack from making this rennstand redundant. They're not cheap either.

Thanks for the background.

That actually is the reason I like the design. I do not have a Porsche, but my 2017 Cadillac XT5 has only four lift points which are the same locations to lift and place jack stands. I suppose they are designed with only service facilities in mind that have post lifts and do not use jack stands.

I will likely not use them on my Corvette because of all of the lift points as nicely illustrated by JerryU in other threads.

If the XT5 is designed in that manner, it is likely there will be more US vehicles following suit, and particularly the GM cars that use the same platform.

It is good to see so many adding comments about safety while lifting vehicles. We do not want to loose any members because of a lifting accident.

Amen to that. I get the convenience-factor, but $500 for a set of jackstands?
