Default ACS GM Wide body kit

I've been looking at the ACS GM wide body kit which I believe is Z06/GS quarter panels and rear bumper + rocker extensions. Since I'm planning on wider tires on my stingray, do I need to replace the front fenders as well to install Z06/GS front size tires? or should I be good with just installing the spats?

From what I understand you only need to change the front fenders if you actually change out the door surround to a true z06 one. But since you are not with that kit you do not need to change them.

Love to see it when you are done. I have been looking very hard at this kit.

On a side note, i’ll Be very curious how many totaled z06’s come out of Texas and Florida after hurricanes. I’m watching eBay hard to see if I can pick up parted out rear fenders and rear bumper already painted in white.

I've looked and been tempted on the ACS Wide Body kit but the one piece looks like an add-on part and I know that I wouldn't be happy long term as if I would with the full-blown OEM Wide Body conversion. I want the true factory / OEM look! The one piece where I drew the arrow drives me crazy since it looks tacked on and I assume that double sided tapes holds it on. Also, personally if I do any wide body conversion I want the total look front and rear. I will say that it is Good Effort on a kit outside of the one part and wonder what it would cost to cut that area out and place in to make it look seamless.

That's an interesting thought! The old saying that "someone's junk is someone else treasure". I would purchase the parts in a heartbeat whether it matched my card or not. A OEM kit will cost you 5-6k and if you can get the parts for lets say 1-2k, you just pay for them to be primed and painting. I think you would save I presume 50% at least.

Kgrant,

The pictures you have is from "older" boy kit. The one I linked uses OEM GM panels. the only piece they added is the rocker extensions.

This is great! But I wish they offered it without requiring you to purchase the spoiler. They need to add a "no spoiler" option. (I already have a stage 3 spoiler)

So that looks a lot better and thanks for point it out and now I wonder if they have a front solution as I would want the front wider as well but it does look good. My other question is the rear lower scoop. Is it like the tape on like the product they developed last year. The only thing I didn't like then was that it looked tacked on as well. How is that scoop from the kit attached? The seam on the picture below show it not being flush or blending in! Lastly, if you perhaps did the kit, how much for the kit and paint? It's definitely is less invasive then tearing out the rocker aperture.

I think I just found my answer in looking at the assembled kit is that it's part of the panel and not tacked on. I agree they should have the no spoiler option so you can choose the one of your choice.

Now it's what's the price to do the rear in total vs a full wide body conversion and I wonder if they are working on a kit for the front as I would want to do all at one time especially with painting.

I found the kit and pricing: $3,999.00 plus painting and blending cost.

When I checked, the discount for "no spoiler" on the full GM kit was -$600 (makes sense, as a new OEM Z06 spoiler with stage 1 winglets is expensive!)

Does your kit require tearing or cutting out the rocker/aperture panel?

Yes, it requires the full rocker panel be replaced. Rocker/aperture replacement isn't for everybody, but IMO it's worth it.

Removing rocker panel is not for everyone, definitely not for a DIYer like me. I'm definitely interested in that ugly one, which would allow me to run wide wheels. That said, $3K for that kit is ridiculously high in my opinion, especially considering lower number of parts, and the extra cost of having to get those items painted. Now, if it were $2K, I'd be definitely considering it.

I eagerly did a rear WB conversion on my C6, but I'm never going to attempt to tear out the glued-on C7 rocker, even if some say it is 'worth it'. Not to me. Kudos to those who have, but it's just not for me -- too much destruction required.

So for me, it's ACS or nothing, since they're the only ones with a 'bolt on' solution. Unfortunately, both their kits are above my budget, so I guess I'll wait for a sale!
