Default Why have it?

Well I purchased a new Z06 a couple weeks ago and tried to use my GM points on my credit card and found out that if you get a GM supplier discount you can't use your GM bucksWTH

I guess it's time for a new card

Just had to vent

At one point the supplier discount was a big benefit but in recent years you can generally easily negotiate an equal or better deal AND use your GM points.

We used the GM Card points and supplier discount when my wife got a new Cadillac XT5 in May of this year. Maybe something has changed since that time?

Could you have insisted on writing up the contract at a few dollars more than Supplier Discount? That way you could use the GM Credit Card discount, and the bottom line price would still be much lower.

This.

On my GS purchase in June, I paid $300 over GM employee and I used over $3k in GM Card earnings and bonus money plus $4k in GM IVC rebates. I paid $58,xxx for my new GS that stickered for $73k and the dealer traded to get me exactly what I wanted.

That's why I have a CC that simply pays me 1.75% cashback on EVERY purchase I make. And I can request that cash back at any time too, not just once per year.

It maybe that with Supplier Discount and using GM card point/money you need to have the GM Extended Family Card like you need when using GM Employee or Friends & Family discount and using your GM Card points / money.
