Installing front license plate cover

Go without it. I've been driving Vettes for years without a front plate and have never been ticketed.

Tere are 2 frames in the car. One looks like it has a insert with Corvette on it. That comes out of the frame and the frame can be put on in the center of the grille. No drilling. The frame is held on with screws that spread the mounting clips.

You dont since it looks terrible. Here is my plan, buy a quick install bracket, leave it with plate on it in the trunk. Get pulled over and explain you just detailed it and they forgot to put it back on. Then offer to install it right there and get out of the ticket. Now if you get pulled over for doing something like 170, that may not work....

I suggest you use the one that fits in the grille and trim it down to the size of the plate...
As shown in the post above, it is held on the grille with two fasteners that spread to lock into the grille openings.

I never put a front plate on in NJ but I did something similar to what Jaycajun did. I kept the front plate on a suction cup mount in the hatch and if I got stopped was going to say it fell off and I was waiting for a better mount to be delivered. Then I moved to Florida and the problem was solved (no front plate required).

Chevy sends an aero plate to buyers living in a state with a front license requirement which is much nicer than the front license bracket that goes over the bumper. Google it and there is a good video by That Cute Girl Ginger that explains how to install-very easy.
