Default 2nd accident......

I went 51 years without an accident of any kind then since getting the Vette I had the one lady back onto the front of my car and now today sitting at a stoplight in Phoenix a lady rear ended the car behind me knocking him into the rear of my car......

Seems like the C5 is an accident magnet....

Maybe I will get a new paint job out of this one.

be happy you weren't hurt and your vette wasn't totaled.

At least the accidents weren't your fault and you were not hurt. Good luck with the repair.

Seems to me drivers are most definitely getting worse these days. I was driving down a street a month ago on a straight road and this woman drove out of her driveway right into the side of my car as I was driving by, I wasn't in my C5 thankfully.

Drivers are too busy with their phones to pay attention to their driving...I still say big brother needs to come down with a regulation that forces all cell phone companies to make their phones turn off when in a vehicle that has the ignition on...

While I agree that people should be off their phones while driving, your suggestion is very nanny state like. Might as well just have self driving cars, since the people can't be trusted.

People using their phones while driving can't be trusted. I have had several close calls. Some could have been fatal. It is getting worse than drunk driving. We have a right to protect our lives from idiots on their phones. Nothing to do with the nanny state.

What I'm saying is if you have a blanket law to disable phones in running cars, why not have breathilizers in every car to be used before you can start it. From there its not far to mandated self driving cars. Its a slippery slope to losing our freedoms. I'm not dissagreeing about the phone issue, but there has to be another way.

While I typically hate the nanny state, sometimes it's necessary...when we have an epidemic that's more dangerous than drunk driving and people are too stupid, arrogant, stubborn, narcissistic, etc, to refrain from it on their own, Uncle Tom needs to step in...

A person's freedom ends when that freedom causes a danger to others...when people are too stupid to make the right decision on their own, others have to make it for them...

Uncle Tom? I think you mean Uncle Sam. But I understand what you're saying in sometimes certain measures have to be taken. I just feel like there could be a better way for this one, and drunk driving for that matter.

You've never heard the term "Uncle Tom?" What are you, young?

Yes I have, and yes I am. But in my experience an "Uncle Tom" had always been a sort of slur that African Americans use to describe a kind of yes-man.

Glad your not hurt and I do hope you get that new paint job

As far as the cell phones, I hate big brother watching over me but at the same time, I just read that cell phone usage is now involved in 25% of accidents. I don't know the solution, but something needs to be done.

I saw the longer post before you edited it. Go back and read the posts...I believe it was you who was attempting to correct me...and I'm certain I don't need a history lesson from you either...
