Carbon 65
I agree!
Saw several at Kerbeck yesterday at their YOYS FOR TOTS show
seems like CHEVY just looking to make more money on a "special" model every year
$7 worth of decals, crappy color but load it up with every $$$$ carbon option available!!

I thought this was a GS upgrade package. Evidently it's not...
Seems out of place on the Z.

Wow, you guys are harsh. That could be the OP's personal car and everyone wants to trash it.
Now THAT is something I don't get....At all.
GM offers options for a reason, some people like the contrast carbon fiber offers, others think NAV is a waste of money when you can hook your phone up and go.
Different strokes for different folks.
I chose this color for a couple of reasons.
1. Very unique color, not something that you're going to look back and find on the previous 3 generations and cross the paint code to 6 other GM vehicles. I value that ability to stand out from the crowd
2. It hides dirt exceedingly well. As someone who lives on a 1/2 mile long gravel driveway I need a color that can help minimize the visibility of dust. Black or other dark colors would kill me.
I get the feeling that if you are over the age of 40, the Carbon 65 is not for you!

To me, a "special edition" should be recognizable without the vinyl telling you it's a special edition...
Think Stingray vs. Z06... easy to distinguish the differences. Would anyone be happy with the C7 Z06 if it was just a Stingray with Z06 stickers on it?...probably not. Seems like the "Carbon 65" is just a Z06 with Carbon 65 stickers. Maybe I'm missing something.
I just feel like they should have done more with it... Carbon fiber everything...
I think everyone should drive what they like, regardless of anyone's opinions. If you like it, cool.

Asking people to compare 2 completely different models in the line up is not the same as a SE. Drastic changes in body work, suspension tuning, and power outputs have always been given a entirely new model designation by GM, and most other manufacturers for that matter. I find that somehow the bar got set to high for people's opinions on what special edition should be. Which is odd considering this has been the modus operandi for as long as I can remember. Manufacturers often only do minor visual changes and that's it. However I do think there was a missed opportunity on not making an actual carbon fiber wheel available on that package, being that none of the carbon bits actually reduce weight by a meaningful margin. Removing 25-30 Lbs. from rotational mass and unsprung weight would pay dividends worth noting.
Oh Well
Maybe the expectations are unrealistic......... What it sounds like people really want is for the upcoming ZR1 to be called the Corvette Z06 High Output Edition and limit the availability to whatever the horse power output is.

Wow - tough crowd. I saw it and really liked it. I have a C7R Z myself but really like this carbon 65 as far as the exterior color and interior. I wasn't sold on the wheels but rally liked everything else. Surprised to see such a love or hate going on with it.
Have a great day!
