Run flat or non run flat
Fall is here and I will be buying Michelin all season tires for my 2014 z51. I would feel safer on long trips with the run flats but would like a less stiff ride with the non run flats. Has anyone got a flat and what was the towing experience.

Getting my new tires put on this Saturday and going AS3+ non run flats. I drive between Seattle Wa and Eugene Or every weekend and usually at night. (311 miles each way). The RF are only supposed to be driven 50 miles and needs to be replaced if used flat. I'm going to carry a can of fix a flat and if that does not work I have towing. I will be enjoying the improved ride and noise.

The new Michelin zero pressure tires are as quiet as the non zero pressure now.

I live in the Charlotte, NC area, so I’m not as concerned with all season tires as other parts of the country ( if it’s occasionally below 40 degrees out locally and I take my 2014 Stingray Z51/mag ride, I just go light on the throttle or take my wife’s infiniti QX60 suv for longer trips).
I recently considered the AS3+ non run flat to replace the OEM Michelin Pilot SS, but ultimately went with the new Michelin 4S non run flat summer tires. To me, the Z51 suspension even with mag ride is a little too firm even in the touring mode with the OEM run flats. Going to the non run flat 4S tires was the perfect solution. The handling is a little better, the ride is definitely softer and the noise is also reduced over the OEM Michelin run flats.
Others may weigh in with their impressions, but I’m guessing the AS3+ tires in the non run flat version will have a softer ride than the run flat version. Yes I would have preferred the safety of run flats, but when trying to get a softer ride, the only simple feasible option ( other than maybe the DSC sport controller for the mag ride) that seemed to make sense, was going to the Michelin 4S. Very glad I made the switch.
