Default Did a couple mods over the weekend

1. I replaced the console lid with a padded one I bought from a forum member

2 & 3. I replaced the air intake with one from a Z06 that I bought from another forum member. I also sanded, primed, and painted my FRC's Crystal Red, and added chrome letters

I really want to paint mine gloss black, not sure how good I would be at this. May just have to pay a shop to do it. Did you primer, paint, clear?

Did you sand them smooth or leave some of the texture, did you use primer and if so what kind, and what did you clean them with to degrease them and did you tape off or repaint the lettering, they look great by the way.

I had a local paint shop mix me some paint to match mine and painted my calipers, have been considering doing other parts too like you did.

Thanks in advance.

Very well done. Looks great! For your consideration, you done such a nice job on the FRC'S take a look at the ZO6 CAI I painted and installed on my GS. Unfortunately before I realized I could actually paint them myself I paid big bucks for my pre-painted FRC'S

I sanded and primed until I got them smooth. I started off using primer that I bought from the same company as the paint, but soon ran out (I only bought 1 can). I then used primer I bought at Home Depot which was designed to be used on plastic, etc. To clean them I washed them using dish soap, both before and after sanding and priming. The letters are stick on.
Here is a photo of the covers after sanding and priming, and ready for paint.

And here is a photo right after the final coat of paint was applied. This was before the clear coat.

Your engine bay looks great! Did you paint the air intake with rattle cans, or a spray gun? If I had it to do over again, I would use a gun. The paint from the rattle cans went on ok, but with the clear, there was a problem with overspray.

Thank's.
Yes, I used rattle cans. They worked great for primer and paint. But I did experience the over spray issue with the clear.
