That's great!

I was able to do the same in 3 states:
VA: SUBFXR
NY: SUBFIXER
CT: SUBFXR (Passenger plates on my current DD)
CT: SUBFXR (Antique plates on my 64)

CT allows the same on both style plates at the same time.

I tried to get this one for my Hemi Challenger but the state of Texas DPS said no. So, I got a fake one to install at car shows and the like.

Looks great Mark.

I got a custom license plate for my 2004 convertible that says GOFEVR. It is a Saturn V commemorative plate. The old NASA guys get it.

While I was at the tag office requesting this plate, someone had submitted a request for a University of Alabama commemorative tag that said ZZKIKR. The tag people were going to let it go through until someone realized that a University of Alabama commemorative plate has the Alabama stylized letter 'A' on it. It would have looked like this. The tag people denied the request

In NY, you can use a vintage plate that was used the model year of your car. My '65 Impala has a black plate (rear only like in '64, '65) with the red '65 reg sticker. Insurance card must read "historical". Cost is $3.75 to register by mail. This 3Z plate was issued in Manhattan in '64. I bought it on eBay for $25.
I'm current looking for plates for my '67 coupe.

Pic of plate...
Also, the plate or plates must be DMV clear.
