I met LouieM! Who have you met?
Just back from our family NorCal weeklong adventure I had to post my meeting with the gracious Lou and his Permanent Girlfriend Betsy.
Over the years Lou has given me help here on the CF and plenty of laughs. For those who don't know, he's owned more c2's than almost anyone here- in the 20's- and hasn't forgotten how to drive them often. One of our first conversations was about his autocross setup preferences!
Anyway- I wanted to give a CF shoutout to him for taking my impromptu offer to meet on the way from SF to Monterey- we had lunch (and they suffered our wild kids) at an amazing 100 plus year old small-town restaurant, got to see his lovely and perfectly-stanced green/tan loaded '67 (see photo and my apologies for the crummy background), and I even got my copy of his memoir I was reading (True North: Hunting Fossils Under the Midnight Sun)signed by the author himself.
Lou- your exploits and journey have been remarkable and your narrative draws me in!
I've met Matt (USMC), Don (Railroadman), Steve (Cavecreekchump), Gerry (and the annual state-tour crew!) over the years and now Lou- all great guys in person just like they are on the forum! Soon I will meet MarkC.
So who have you guys met traveling around?
oh- and proof of the meeting-

I have met 65hihp and Tuxnharley. Both really cool guys. I have met a couple more but I forgot their forum names.

Betsy and I couldn't have been more delighted to meet your family. Like the residents of Lake Woebegone, you're all above average. Way above! It's ultra-cute that when your 4-year-old daughter hears your '64 Vette start she wants to go with you, but if you start up your BMW she doesn't care! Plus, she has a vast Hot Wheels collection!
I met the whole 63-67 Sting Ray registry in 2009 and drove with them along Calif.'s famed Highway 1 for a day. The names I recall are CaveCreekChump and Silverslashstreak, but they were all top rate.

Damn, Benton! I wish I had known you were out in this area!
Meeings - well, the only one I have met in person directly through the Forum is JackTripper - a great guy and a next generation enthusiast to inspire all us old farts.
I had met Lou previously outside of the Forum at a club event, but I'm not sure if he remembers me from that.
Other than that I have a couple long term friends who are infrequent posters here.
Please do let me know if you are ever out this way again!
PS - Looks like maybe you ate at Duartes in Pescadero?

I will plan well ahead next time! I didn't call Lou until we were already on the tarmac at SFO.
What a stunning area.
And- yes- we were glad to do Duarte's! the heavy mid day fog was unreal to me.

I've had the pleasure to meet many great Vette enthusiasts and Forum members over the years - here are few that stand out:
JohnZ - I had the opportunity to meet John when I toured the Conner Avenue Viper Prowler assembly plant (he was the plant manager at the time) in the summer of 1996 - he even drove his Grand Sport replica to work that day. John has been an incredible resource for many of the issues I've experienced in owning a C2 for 42 years.
Jackfit - Jack stayed at my house in September, 2015 during a visit to the area. Got to see him again last year @ Carlisle!
Six-5 - Kimmo (owner of the world's fastest C2) from Finland. KImmo stayed at my house the 2nd day he was here in the US in September, 2015 - the first time he was headed to the Texas Mile. He's been back twice for a visit since then.
Many members of the 63-67 Registry (inclucding Dennis & Cindy from Florida) - had the opportunity to meet them @ Carlisle lasy year.
56V225 = Dan lives @ a miles from my house and has both a C1 - and - a C2, both of which he restored himself to NCRS award levels.
My 2 best Forum "buds" are local guys - Sky65 (Tom) - and - Bluestripe67 (Dennis)- who have provided help and assistance on numerous occasions for years - they are a phone call or a text away and will just show up to help!

After moving here to Wilmington, NC, a few years ago, Cavecreekchump and his pals were motoring through town, and I met up w/them.
From back in my original home town, east of Pittsburgh, PA., I know Cruisemiesters, the nicest and most generous couple you could ever want to meet.

I have met in person probably 30 Corvette people I've conversed with on the internet either here or other forums. 28 of them seemed to be fine people. Only two AH's but I think that percentage is probably less than any group of people.

Thanks! The wheels are a gloss dark gray with polished rim and aluminum center cap.
I would have posted a pic, but Photobucket doesn't work any more and suddenly my iPhone won't allow me to email a photo to myself. My '67 is a lot more reliable than the tech junk in my life.

RATDOG and I have met up a few times since we are moving close to him slowly but surely. Once I get there full time I hope to meet some of the other central Florida members.
I’ve also met Mike Coletta. Great guy. He did the top, seats and headrests on my ‘67. Beautiful work. I just hope that my wife and I aren’t the two AHs he referred to <LOL>.
I’ve been thinking it would be great to stage a lunch meet-up for central Florida forum members and their wives. It would be great to meet all of you.
