Default 30,000 Miles on Set of Tires Normal?

After swapping out the OEM Goodyear tires on my 2008 Base Coupe at 18,000 miles, I put on Michelin A/S Pilot Sport run flat tires and have just turned 48,000 miles on the odometer. A local retailer is offering a set of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 run flats tires out the door for $1,040. Seems like a good deal and I’m tempted to put on new tires but I have some tread life left on the current tires. I’m curious if 30,000 miles on my Pilot Sport A/S run flats is about normal or if I’ve gotten more than my monies worth and should jump at the deal.

How old are the current Michelin's?
If they are 4-5 years or older then get the new ones.

I would say at 30,000 miles they have lived a good life and are ready for retirement. Buy the new Michelins for better wet & dry grip.

Don't think you're driving it right! That price for new ones would be hard to pass up.

7400 0n my original rear Goodyears and they're worn already. Too much aggressive driving on curvy back roads I guess.

That's decent life for a set of staggered tires you can't rotate.

Of all the design choices in the C6, the staggered wheel and tires is my least favorite. My C4 has a square tire setup, it's nice to be able to rotate them and get that bit of extra life out.

10k on my Michelins, barely worn. But I drive like an old man, instead of the 30 year-old that I am.

Buy the new ones, and hang on to them. I got 46,000 miles out of my last set of Michelin Pilot Sport Run Flats

I'd wait and buy new tires when the tread depth calls for replacement.

Still if your at 5/32nds I'd replace now.

The michelins are great tires. I put them in the 19/20 inch c7 z51 black oem rims I picked up last year and they are an amazing tire clearly heads and shoulders above the hankooks I had been running for several sets worth.

I usually get 20k miles out of a set of tires...or about 2 years ..

30k miles for a set of tires on a corvette is excellent...

Checked with michelin and it's rated at 45k mile tire...if you still have appropriate tread on the tire don't replace at 30k miles, you supposedly could have 15k miles of life on those tires on your car.

Check to see if the side walls are showing cracking. This can take place between the tread too.

If cracking or drying is observed jump on the deal of a new set.

30K mileage....normal?
Doesn't seem to be as I think most on here report 15K an average tire life.

Just awesome tire life, alignment specs and maintenance from the OP...well done.

Yes, replace based on age.

30K on any front tires on a C6 is huge. Even with a street camber setting of -0.1 degree, I have never gotten past 23K on my fronts.

I highly recommend the new Pilot Sport A/S 3+ run-flats. They're decent for all-around summer driving and perform very well in winter down to 0 degrees or less.

I got 33K out of the OEM GYs, then 44K out of the Michelin RFT, now getting ready to change out the Bridgestone RFT at 45K. 30 K is good on the GYs.

You claim you drive like an old man, I don't. What part of this don't you understand?

I *DO* drive like an old man but, unlike you, I'm only 30 years old.
