Default Cleaning rims with Z07 (CCB) package

I was washing the car the other day and noticed the wheel brush I have won't fit between the front calipers and the rim. Anyone have any tips for how they go about cleaning the front rim? Curious how some of you may go about this..

Daytona speed brush, but use caution when cleaning those rotors. No chemical, just soap and water, or just water if you can get away with it.

I have used nothing but soap and water (same soap I use on the whole car via foam cannon) but I could not fit a brush in between there to get the barrells clean.

This is the brush I am currently using and it will NOT fit between the caliper and the wheel.

I don't have the brakes on my car at this point but that was what I used. I suppose it was possible I just hit it at the caliper bridge and worked it back and forth best I could (I do have both the large and small brush but don't remember which I used). If the Speed master brush doesn't fit, I'm not sure anything will.

You could just roll the car forward/backward slightly if it comes to it. With CCBs I doubt your wheel barrel is dirty enough to tell you missed it anyway.

I literally can't even get the brush in there enough to hit the caliper bridge. The barrel was dirty but not from brake dust just dusty and then it was driven in the rain so it made a mess. I did clean half the rim and then rolled the car foward to clean the other half. Was just hoping there was a better way

I've got a set of three wheel woolies that are different diameters. The big one works great for everything but getting behind the caliper. For that the medium size works.

With the CCB brakes the medium size works? Do you happen to have pictures of which ones fits?

I would worry about sticking anything in there. If you snag the brush or something on the rough disc edge and break a piece off the disc goes at least $800
likely more. They are kind a fragile

It's not the rotor stopping it, it's the caliper.

I use a small towel, soap and water. I squeeze the towel between the caliper and back side of the wheel; a tight fit, but it works.

This may sound really dumb but I just use a inexpensive Microfiber rag wrapped around one of the free paint stur sticks I get at Lowes or Home Dopey. I usually “spritz” the rag on both sides with a bit of detail spray and it cleans wonderfully. Even then between the caliper and barrel gets very tight so, a little roll back or forth gives me complete access. I then use the same rag now damp to wipe the spokes and outer edges. Leaves the wheels looking pretty good. I have light colored wheels so the dust shows easily.

Yes soap and water only.
Thin stick and soft rags work for me.

(PS move the car forward one foot to clear the caliper area.... I've done that too)

That would be harder for me with the stock rims (they aren't as open) but I like the idea.

I'm on business travel so I'm not able to take a pic of my set. Stole this from the Internet and the heads appear to have the same proportions as my set.

I wash as much of the rim barrels as I can and then roll the car a little to re-position the wheels.

Default Home depot has answer

I have found the perfect tool for this. Go to home depot and go to the cleaning tools and mop area. Hanging there will be a orange three inch by sixteen inch flexible cleaning wand with soft wash MIT material. Best thing is you can bend internal rod to adjust pressure on inside of rim. It will reach all the way to back side of wheel rim and work around calipers on the rear. The space is different on front ceramics so it won't go behind those where caliper and rim line up. On that area a rag will work just in that section. I really think you will like how this will assist in cleaning your rims. Look for orange wand with white plastic handle.

All great ideas, but add a coat or two of CQuartz or MD Wheel Coat ceramic coating. It is not only easier to clean the rims, but less stuff gets on the rim.

I clean the hard to reach areas on wheels with foam paintbrushes.
