Default Pilot Sport Cup 2 tire question

I am looking at a used 2016 Z07 package with 3,000 miles.
How much tread are on these tires when new?
The outside edges look smooth with little tread.
The inside has some measurable tread.
I am trying to determine what life is left on these tires.
Thanks

I was told at Spring Mountain that the Cup 2's only last about 6k miles, the Super Sports will last 30k. I swapped out my Cup 2's at 2k.

Does anybody know the new depth of tread 5/32 or less?
It looks like the depth is less in the outside edge,is this correct?

Holy smokes Batman... We feel lucky to get 10K-12K out of a set of MPSSZP's. There is no way we are ever getting 30K out of a set and we run them on four Corvettes. And have cycled thru approximately half a dozen sets to date. I can definitely believe 15K is achievable but 30K seems unrealistic to me. If nothing else those are going to be brutally boring miles working to get that many miles out of Super Sports.

I had a nail in my tire and went to Discount Tire to get it fixed. They said it could not be fixed and I needed a new set because the depth of the tread was under 5/32 and the outside tread was worn I told them the tires were petty new as the original owner replaced them before I bought the car two months and that is how they look new. I tried to explain to them about the tires but they were sure they needed to be replaced until they looked at a new one and they admitted to never have seen the tires before and fixed the nail hole.

Is the depth different across the width of the tire?
It looks like the outside portion has less, like the groove don’t go as deep as the inside of the tire.

Oh definitely different across the width. The only place the original tread depth is applicable is the two main treads.

They need to be replaced. $1600. Pllus/Minus. High performance tires in a used car at this price point are worthless. If you don't want to use high performance tires then use Super Sports, still quite good but not ultimate track tires. Then the value of tire residual may be of value.

But why worry about high performance track tires in a used car of this category??????

Discount Tire has unusual rules for when tires should be replaced. Follow the signs in their sales area and you would be replacing tires much more often than necessary. The tire is legal in all states as long as it has 2/32 of measurable tread in its major grooves.

30K, thats funny. I got 11k and was corded.

Warranty card says:
Note if you use different size tires on front and rear axles your tires can not be rotated as recommended by Michelin. As a result, the mileage warranty on each tire will be half that specified
