Burn Out Length Time Sport Cups
How long of a burnout is needed to heat these tires on unprepared concrete on a night with temps in the 50 to 60's. As off now I am having a terrible time trying to hook up when these tires seem to be unassumingly cold even after a 3-5 second burnout.

Seems a Tire Pyrometer tool would answer your question.
Too many variables...including the road surface condition, even if the tires are at proper operating temp.
Or go with 7 minutes as that seem reasonable...haha.

Different tire for this purpose
I switched from the Cup2 to the MPSS for AUtoX for that reason. And those tire still typically take a 2 - 3 runs to get to max grip.
So either switch tires or keep upping the burnout time. I assume you are checking the tire temperature with a pyrometer.

Sport Cup2 tires take a long time to warm up at those ambient temperatures. As in 2 laps on a track like Laguna Seca.
I switched from the Cup2 to the MPSS for AUtoX for that reason. And those tire still typically take a 2 - 3 runs to get to max grip.
So either switch tires or keep upping the burnout time. I assume you are checking the tire temperature with a pyrometer.

160 - grip starts to come in
180 - optimal temp for max grip
200 - grip begins to fall off
use a probe thermocouple – non-contact will read inaccurately
I picked this info up at the following site:

How long does it take to get the tires to 180 degrees by doing a burn out? Only doing some tests with a pyrometer will tell. Might want to take them to 190 and by the time you launch they may have cooled down to 180. If you do a smoky burn out like drag racers do at the strip when using tires designed for drag racing you will over heat them.

Those tires are not meant for drag strip or street launches so you will always be disappointed if you're expecting them to launch well. Stiff sidewall run flat tires, concrete and cool ambient temps are 0 for 3 for expecting a road course tire to launch.

Zero, Trebec. the burnout on time on cup 2 should be zero because you shouldn't use them for that.

If you are really concerned about getting a decent launch you really need to switch to drag radials. Don't mean to be a smart -ss, but those tires aren't mean for drag racing.
