Hello,
my wife and me live in Germany and we are proud owners of a 2010 C6 Corvette Grand Sport. How could this happen in a country of famous European sports cars like Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes AMG?
Well, in the middle of 2014 we were looking for a used, nice looking and powerful Mercedes AMG CLK 63 convertible. We really found a lot of sale offerings, but these cars were all coloured in black with black interior too. What a boring colour combination for a lady's fun car ...
So after a few months, we began looking for other convertible car options like Audi A5, Porsche 911 and BMW M3. But none of these fitted our main search and style criterias. So while searching for some Porsches, I stumbled over a german head to head sports car comparison between a Porsche 911 and a Corvette C6. And to my astonishment, the C6 Base Corvette was absolutely competitive on the race track, and also had the highly desired big displacement & big punch V8 engine !
In Mai 2015 we decided to rent a C6 Grand Sport for a weeked test drive to a well known german Corvette owners meeting at Ladenburg, near Mannheim. And while driving, this great car and its fabulous LS3 engine put more and more smile on our faces!
The decision was clear: This is the right car for us!
After another Corvette car search of 6 months, we reached the finish line in Sept. 2015 and bought our 2010 C6 GS Coupe with 6 MT and hand built drysump engine.
And since this day, the smile in our faces is always there when driving this great sports car ! So we can absolutely confirm, that the guys of Corvette Racing told the truth at Le Mans 2011:
"Behind every great Corvette, there is a BMW, Porsche and Ferrari.. "

Thanks for your warm Welcome & Congrats!
Because our C6 is a native US-Version, I visited this forum very often in the last 2 years for important informations about the car. For example:
By the way: There is a similar, but way way smaller German Corvette enthusiasts community with participants from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, located at www.corvetteforum.de
Some of these members are travelling next week to Miami, and will have a meeting with the local Sunshine Corvette Club.
Because our C6 is a native US-Version, I visited this forum very often in the last 2 years for important informations about the car. For example:
- Where to find the hand built engine label on the LS3 (It's really hard to detect)
- Is my LS3 engine affected by the grave digging valve issues of the LS7 engine? (puuh,... obviously not)
- Is my car affected by the AHS and steering wheel sensor problems, which pushed several C6 drivers off the road? (puuh, no. Issues seems to be solved with new AHS-System used from MY 2009 and later)
- And a lot of other useful facts, hints and experiences from other Corvette owners.
