Spot Rot

The AC service port low side (on VIR) is hard to reach on my 73.

The manifold gauge set can't connect because the fitting is pointed at the evap case and is too close.

Has anyone tried installing a 90 degree adapter?

I saw these on ebay:

Not sure what you mean by installing. From what I can see those adapters are meant to attach to the gauge or charging hose and push open the shrader valve so they cannt be left on permanently. They would make it easier for you to attach your gauge set.

Thanks for the reply. Upon closer examination of the photo, it appears there is a valve on the male end and therefore could be left attached to the VIR assembly.

The VIR port is so close to the evap housing, that I may have to loosen or remove the VIR to install the 90 degree adapter.

I was hoping someone had come up with a more clever way of using the VIR port.
