Default Is it just me or are there very few appealing aftermarket wheels for a C7

I like a lot of wheels, but when I see them on a C7 I just think "eh, maybe just a tad better than factory" at best.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a forged set before I bend my OEM ones again, but nothing strikes me as "holy crap that's awesome" like wheels do on other cars. I think the C6 was the king of having after market wheels look good.

I had a set custom made. You won't see another set. Gloss gunmetal centers and mat gunmetal barrels.

I think the offset has reduced the options. The C5 and C6 allowed for deeper dish options which provided more styling options. I think Forgeline probably has the best C7 options.

Not just you. I really like the factory split 5-spoke. Just wish I could get it on custom sizes.

The problem as I see it is that the are mostly just variations on a theme where the OEM selections are actually pretty good. If you want to get especially exotic, as in color variations, for example, the price goes up dramatically. Do you really want upwards of $10K in a set of wheels? That's kind of an issue.

I agree. If I could get a set of Z51 wheels in 18x10 fronts and 18x12 rears I would be happy.

My impression is that the factory wheels look so good, one would wonder, why buy an aftermarket version for a ridiculous cost. The factory wheels are forged if I recall correctly. GM did the factory wheels right on the C7.

I agree, lots of wheels of varying designs exist but that doesn't mean any of the more obvious (promoted) ones are any given person's cup of tea, so to speak. If that's the case it might take more investigation to come up with something that appeals.

Addendum; what I have found as I look at more and more wheel ads here are that there is an ever increasing number of brands of wheels I've never heard of that look more and more alike. It makes one wonder if there are essentially two or three wheel companies distributing to different "companies" with their individually specified center-caps.

Nope, not just you.
The best looking aftermarket wheel I've seen for the Z51 is the C7 Z06 look-alike. I was all set to buy them but some of the complaints about bent wheels, even though those complaints were only related to the GS, have put my plans on hold. For now, I'm staying with OEM.

I completely agree with the OP that "there very few appealing aftermarket wheels for a C7". I also think that there are very few appealing GM wheels for the C7 as well.

While I kind of like the general style of WKMCD's wheels they look genuinely "clunky" to me compared with my GM wheels that are in the same style and are the only ones that actually look good.

Lots of available wheels just haven't seen the need. Wheeled up on other vehicles but like the vette wheels.

My favorite wheels are the stock GS design, just wouldn't look right on my Z51

Good looking wheels and perhaps it's just me, but the rear wheel looks like the tire is stretched and also set too far inward. The wheels look too small for the car in this photo:

I haven't seen many aftermarket that improve on the GM offerings, and I think it has more to do with the stock and optional wheels look pretty great than a lack of aftermarket offerings. The GM wheels just are done so well.
