Default All Weather Z06 Tires Announced

At the AACA Corvette Racing Weekend and Michelin just announced an All Weather tire for the C7 GS and Z06. The tire is already available for the front and rests will be available very soon and will be run flat.

IMHO I'm from Nebraska. Where heavy snow and ice are common in the winter months. Streets can be solid ice for 2 months and longer

The Corvette would mostly sit from November till they sweep the gravel off the roads in April. The flying rocks in winter weather from other cars will really chip up your car from use in the winter.

I'll stay with the Michelin factory tire. They work great for me. They will remain the max grip summer tire. No need for a tire for ice and snow use.
That will be a compromise on dry grip compared to the MPSS.

Then the Corvette with snows is a huge compromise as well compared to a TRD 4 wheel drive.

You can still drive the car in 0 degree weather on clean dry roads if you want coming out of a warm garage just don't leave the car outside so the tires don't freeze.

I have other vehicles I use in snowy or icy winter weather that are made for winter use. No room inside for weather tech mats and rubber boots in my Corvettes.

If I see a Z06 out in a Nebraska snow storm which you never would see. I think
A. There goes someone who overspent on the Corvette and cannot afford a winter car.
B. Not a smart plan.

To each his own!

Just my 2 cents I'm sure some will buy these.

Many people live in climates that get too cold for summer tires to be effective but don’t deal with snow and ice regularly. I’m sure there’s a bunch of people excited to have this option available.

From michelinman.com - they are marketing this as a winter tire under their ALPIN line, not an all season. Hard to operate the clutch with my snow boots, so I will stick to the regular Pilot Sports for summer, which is 90% of my driving time.

MICHELIN® Pilot® Alpin® PA4™ tires merge Pilot performance handling with Alpin tire winter capabilities and designed for OE fitments like the Corvette Stingray
