1989 C4, how to change under dash courtesty lights
How do I change the light bulb in the courtesy lights under the dash. Really concerned that I am going to break the glass lense.

You have to remove the under panel. 3 screws I believe. Don't pry on the lens from below.

The under dash lights have a connector on one end. You can remove them by prying on the opposite end. If you pry on the end with the connector, that won't work. This is a pic of mine, with home made LEDs:

It is easier to change if you take the panel off but is doable with out doing it. On my 88 the plug was on the left side of both so you would pry down on the other side. If you take the passenger side panel down be careful that there are two screws holding the heater duct in place besides the two mounting screws. Get some LED bulbs, they make a huge difference and are not hot like the original halogen bulbs. I had to replace one of my cargo sockets because it melted from the heat of the bulb.
