Default Plasti dip question

For those of you who have used Plasti Dip on your car, can you take it through a car wash? Before you dump all over me about not hand washing the car, I am a senior citizen who is not able to hand wash it myself.

Yes, you can take through a car wash no problem. Hopefully forum users will be polite. There is nothing wrong with a car wash if there is a health issue or something like that. It is better than letting the car build up an accumulation of dirt and such. Some car washes do a very good job. Just be sure it can handle the undercarriage of the car.

Ok, if it were me in your position, I'd find a "touchless" car wash. Not the ones with the rotating flaps of sandpaper. Look for touchless, laser, no touch... If you see the wheels of sandpaper, move along.

Also be careful about the car washes that have tracks that the wheels follow. Corvette wheels are usually too wide to fit and will be damaged.

And to add to the above, all of the "Touchless" washes around me are actually Touch-Less, as in they make LESS contact with the spinny things, not no contact.

And Plasti-Dip will hold up just fine so long as you properly prep the surface prior to application. It will hold up to some lower pressure power washers, so a car wash should be fine.

There are plenty other good alternatives to automated car washes including 'detailers', 'mobil carwash' etc.
I was a little skeptical about mobil carwashing at first however my neighbor has a guy with a van come to his house about once a month to wash his (3) vehicles and they do a great job. I suggest checking your phone book to see what's available in your area.

Even the "touchless" carwash's harsh chemicals can damage your finishes over time.

Yes on your Plastic Dip question no problem going thru a car wash. Also not a thing wrong with the car washes you drive in no rails, etc. and the robot goes around your car with the various cycles. Usually undercarriage spray, rinse, wash, dry.
