Default Sparkplugs for my 396 stroker

I have standard ac Delco ones in it now, but i think they are to hot for it, it's stumbling after I shut it down.
what are you guys running with?

"Running on" or "dieseling" is usually caused by an idle speed that is too fast combined with hot spots in the combustion chamber. A sure cure is to use a fast idle solenoid that will allow the butterflies to completely shut when the key is turned off.

Yes and no on the high idle speed run on thing.

How high is your idle speed?

I can shut mine down at 1000 RPM with no run on.

Low initial timing can create lots of combustion chamber heat and cause run on.

Mis-adjusted carb due to low initial timing can leave the butterfly open a bit too much causing run on.

Hot plugs can I suppose do it to although it is usually detonation that is caused by the too hot plugs that makes the hot spots for it to occur.

What heat range are you running?

Street plugs do need to be hotter than race plugs to keep the plugs clean.

Too lean of a mixture can create hot spots and run on as well.

I have my wideband connected to it it says around 12 at idle
I have 12 degrees of timing at 700rpm 36 at full
Gonna check the carb again if it's abit open

I've heard here many times that high idle will cause run on, I don't believe that is the sole cause.
I tried with mine yesterday to get it to run on by holding the throttle open and shutting it off at 1500 RPM. This was after driving to 45 minutes. No run on from it despite being at full running temp.

So run on is a combination event much like 71vettelover says.

Gonna check the carb and lower the idle alittle
But it couldn't be the sparkplugs?, It happens when it's at operating temp

If the hot plugs are creating a situation that creates excessive chamber heat and or hot spots then yes.
