Editing and deleting this article because the information is apparently not correct and I don't want someone who searches by key words or just skims this thread to get incorrect information.

Cast iron case with aluminum tailhousing used until mid 1961 Corvette production.

Late '50s and early '60s Corvettes used an aluminum case, while the full-size GM units from '57-'60 used a cast-iron case. GM used all aluminum-cased units after 1960, and all manufacturers used aluminum cases up until 1974.
Copied from article about T10 usage in by all manufacturers.

This post shows what happens when you don't read the previous posts before you criticize someone trying to help. It's already been posted that the article was apparently incorrect. Some people just can't wait to say "completely wrong". I have a 60 and I saved that article about the T10 transmissions and shared for discussion to help get correct answers. I answer a lot of questions on the forum, mostly electrical or function. Sorry if one was incorrect. Rude posting something that has already been discussed is unnecessary.
