Default Center armrest wrinkles

I just bought my 15 C7 Z51 this past Friday and the only thing that is bothering me is the center armrest has wrinkles where your arm rest. I have a appointment tomorrow for the dealership to look at it, my bumper to bumper is up the end of this month so I'm hoping they will replace it under warranty. Anyone had this issue fixed through warranty? Thanks for any input.

There are a few threads related to this, and many have had them replaced under warranty.

Mine has done that. My dealer would not warranty. I will take it to local shop and have them put a little extra pad in and restretch it for about $80 like I did on my c6

If dealer won't cover it under warranty forum sponsors sell new for about $240 and it only takes about 5 minutes to swap it out.

The dealer should absolutely warranty and replace the center armrest. The foam underneath doesn’t hold/return to shape like it should.

I had mine (15) replaced under warranty once already for same issue.

Hmm. Trim shop repair for $80 or replacement for $240. Tough choice.

The one in my 17 GS was replaced under warranty just a couple of months ago, if it wrinkles again GM will be replacing it once again. Neither my C5 or my C6 had this kind of problem.

Mine was going to be replaced under warranty, but they had to order the part.

For those of you who had the center console cover replaced under warranty, has the issue returned? Does it only effect the Nappa leather or both the Nappa and Mulan leather? I would think the true fix would be better, firmer memory foam underneath.

Hasn’t happened again, but now I’m careful not to leave the point of my elbow right on it for too long now that I know what the issue is.

I’m not sure if they fixed the issue or not, but I doubt they put in a new type foam and revised the part. Someone with some time to kill can see if part numbers changed I guess.

Personally, if not covered by warranty, I would rather just buy another OEM (not cheap Ebay knockoff) and have it delivered to my door and spend the 5 minutes installing it myself then spend the time hunting for and traveling to a shop in my area that would/could repair it.

Besides, I just examined mine pretty closely and don't see how the leather would come off the console cover to install more pad. At least come off and go back on without looking worst than it did to start with.

I am embarrassed to say that I had mine replaced under warranty. I'm not "an elbow digger" either. Something is wrong with that part. The service writer took one glimpse at it and agreed it needed to be replaced. I was at 35,900 miles on my car. That has been the only problem and yes I have an A8, 2016 Stingray.

In case you hate the feel of the leather? Some decent covers out their. This type even has a pocket.Cell phone goes here to add more space else wear.
Another reason for install was to darken the light gray a little.Black mat's added also.Just a idea for you Gray interior owners.

More info please. Is that just a cloth type cover that slips over the existing leather pad? If so, is there enough stretch to allow placing another small pad of foam under it? Where did you get it? How much?
