ZR1 Wheels -- Replicas available?
I really like the design of the ZR1 wheels; I find their simple design more appealing than the Z06 wheels, which have always seemed a bit busy for my tastes. To my eyes, the ZR1's are the best looking C7 OEM wheels out there.
When do you think we might see the 1st ZR1-style replica wheels released? Or even Z51-sized replicas?
(I know I know, the originals aren't even on the street yet. Just curious about ramp-up time and time-to-market for the replica makers)

I just wish they weren't slanted. Slant looks silly imo. Like OMG ITS FAST THE WHEELS ARE SLANTED!
I just want a simple split 5-star like the C6Z06.

Unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying.. the wheels aren't "slanted". I'm thinking you mean like directional. They are Just a straight star. From some angles they appear to be directional or "slanted" but they are not. I like them

These wheels are asymetrical(directional or slightly slanted) and from the photo's you can see they are not location specific. Therefore, there are only two different wheels(one front and one rear) for the ZR1 vs four different wheels(one front left, one front right and one rear left, one rear right) if they were location specific. The current ZO6 10 Spoke Blade wheels are also asymmetrical and not location specific. I was hoping they were going to have location specific wheels for this more expensive ZR1 but it must not have been in the budget. Having sloped blades can suck air into the brake discs if properly designed or reversed if required to extract air out of the wheel cavity. Wheel cavity air management is definitely becoming more critical with these supercars which demands 4 separate wheels if utilizing sloped blade wheels which can move air in it's optimal direction.

The Zo6 wheels definitely are not sloped(directional) and I dont believe the Zr1 wheels are either. The zr1 wheels sometimes give that allusion because of the way the star returns to the center. I don't know what you are seeing with the Z06 wheel? Not trying to be argumentative but I cant see what you are referring to.

That's interesting- maybe it is just the angle. If the ZR1 are symmetrical, I'm definitely going to get a set of those.
The Z06 are definitely symmetrical.
The Z06 are definitely symmetrical.

Skank is spot on. Definitely asymmetrical, but if they were location specific, the driver’s side would be a mirror image of the passenger side. It’s not ( at least from every pic I’ve seen so far).
Here is a closeup showing the asymmetry.

Subtle but I see it now. Ok now show me how aZO6 wheel is .

Thanks Downhill. Yes, both new ZR1 and ZO6 with the optional 10 Spoke blade wheel (shown above) are asymmetrical. What some of the people on the forum don't realize is the wheel being turned 180 degrees to itself will reverse the look from driver side to passenger side. Take a photo of the wheel above from both sides of the car and the blade slopes are reversed. It's very obvious !!! More importantly, if Corvette really needed to manage wheel cavity airflow direction they would have had 4 distinctly different wheels. Even the 1984 C4 Corvette had 4 location specific wheels with sloped blade slots that would scoop the air. At the time they touted the wheels were designed to draw air into the brake disc's to cool them down. These huge CC brakes on the new ZR1 can literally get red hot if used hard, hence the need for brake cooling ducts and wheel cavity air flow management.

Here is a good read on wheel design and why location specific wheels are critical.

Ridiculous to me they put a directional wheels on the top of the line car and don't have specific wheels for each side(like a c4). So your wheels look different on each side of the car. I know I'm OCD and your average person will never notice but it drives me absolutely crazy. I expect more from CORVETTE

Just run across these wheels from a vendor here. Not sure about quality, sizing or fitment, but its a similar style wheel to the new ZR1 wheel for those that are interested.
