Custom Cars and Coffee Perth
A few Vettes from this mornings Custom Cars and Cofffee, Perth Western Australia.
A good morning with a good variety of cars. Weather was a bit overcast but fortunately it didn't rain.
Not sure which one is the owner but I don't think it's the bloke in the front!!!

Thanks Craig,
Yes, I left the rocker mouldings as clear coated aluminium. The headers and pipes are black ceramic and heat shields are black chrome.

Out of interst how’s much lower than the frame do the sidepipes sit.
I have considered sidepipes but getting the quickjack under the Vette from the side may be difficult given how low car is.
Now it slides under the frame with minimal clearance.

I had a 71 HQ Monaro, 350 with Muncie 4 speed. I sold it in 1983, what a mistake!!!

Good question Craig. I'm guessing a few inches. I will have a look in the morning and let you know.

I was surprised at the number of Vettes with left hand drive.
It was my understanding all Oz vehicles were required to be right hand drive.
Is there an exception?
BTW wabco, Your Vette is very very well done.

It depends which state in Australia. Here in Western Australia the vehicle needs to be more then 15 years old to remain LHD. Also if they are built after 1 January 1970 they also need to be ADR (Australian design rules) compliant for the specific year. For my car built in December 70 it required double catching door latches, safety glass and collapsible steering column. Fortunately it had these already.

Hi w,
Your car looks terrific!
Does it get a lot of attention? I'd think it would because it really stands out.
Some very interesting looking cars in those photos!
Some of them remind me of couple of the cars in Mad Max.
Thanks for taking the time to post them.
Regards,
Alan

That 15 year rule might still be current but with the prices of conversion , why would anyone buy an old car to do that .
C6 and C7 , Camaro,Mopar and the big truck /utes you guys love are being done (mainly on the east coast ) , a lot of those are imported to tow the big caravan type or big horse floats with the 5th well set up. Last I checked the C6 conversion was 35 thousand AUS and I have heard the C7 was 50 thousand AUS+. there's a few around , but with a price of around 230K+ AUS. (on the road after taxes and import duties !)only certain people do it.
