Default Keyless entry ...

Has anyone figured out how to use a normal keyless entry remote (instead of the 100$+ PKE) on the 94-96 cars yet ?

The only way your going to use a different remote, is if you install a different keyless entry system in the car.

No way around it, Rolla is right. And an aftermarket system can cause all sorts of problems (not always, but often). If you are thinking about buying a PKE fob, try the programming process and make sure the PKE module in your car is working OK before putting out the cash.

Yeah would never install an aftermarket system.
Testing the system is good idea before I lay out 140$ .... I assume it will cycle the locks or something similar ??

Definitely test first. Owner's manual shows how.

I have a nice $129 FOB and a dead PKE.
