Default A SAD Good bye to my baby!!!

Was a beautiful day here in my small town, perfect Sunday afternoon to take the Vette out for a drive, which I did. Took a short drive out into a rural area just enjoying the car, the sun & some good tunes. Decided to go back home was 4 blocks from my house & some stupid bitch ran a stop sign & hit my 98 Vette square in the right rear quarter panel and killed my car. Was the perfect hit it knocked the rear end housing completely sideways under the car. What made me even hotter under collar was the fact that this stupid "B" wanted to offer me some cash on the spot & not call the cops. I said hell no lady I am calling the cops & have them take me to the hospital to be checked out. At the time of the impact my left leg got twisted into some kind of crazy position under the dash, got checked out, the knee & lower part of the left leg are sore. So now I guess I am out of a Vette... I truly loved that car, owned it for a whole 4 months & 2 days. Took me a year of searching to find what I thought was the perfect deal... Maybe I can find another one, we'll see...

A fraction of a second sooner and you might have been killed. I will bet that she was texting. She offered you cash? Was she DUI? Didn't both her and your air bags deploy?
Sorry about your Vette.

I know your Vette was your baby...but remember, its just a car, and you got to walk away...that's what really matters.

That's a tough one. Hope you're OK. I trust she was cited for running the stop sign? It's dangerous out there these days. At some point, I'm sure you will have another one and enjoy it just as much.

While the loss of your Vette is certainly sad, the important thing is you were not seriously injured. Hope things work out well with the insurance company and that you find another nice car to replace it - they are out there.

And hopefully she was ticketed by the police.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your treasured vette, but glad to hear that you are ok. Not knowing what went down but with the rise of phone related accidents lately I bet that was the cause. I actually stopped riding motorcycles years ago as I was rear ended on Halloween night at a light. The driver behind me though it was a good idea to take a selfie of himself in his costume while approaching the light. I walked away too thankfully. Again sorry about your loss and hope you find another vette in the near future..

Sorry for your lost. It sucks big time, I hate the people just drive their damn car and not paying attention while they have a 3000lbs plus killing machine running on the road.

Hence the reason I've stop riding my motorcycle.

Crazy people out there. But glad that you are O.K. And walk away safe.

Please remember some time the pain from accident hit you several days later, so make sure you go to doctor to get properly checked out.

Cars can be replaced, we can't.....

Sorry for your loss.

Bummer, Paul.
As others have said - the most important thing is that you walked away from the accident.
Since she was offering cash, it's a shame you didn't think to tell her how collectable your Vette was and that it'd take about $50,000 to replace it.

The exact thing happened to me four months after I bought my Vette.

Fortunately mine was in the front, and was reparable.

Bob.

Glad to hear you're OK. I lost my 2003 AE convertible 2 1/2 years ago to an 80 year old who didn't see the bright red light. She t-boned my car on the passenger side and my 10k mile beauty was gone. I just bought a low mileage 2001 convertible that was well taken care of. Took me a couple of years to find a good deal and a decent car but they are out there. Keep the faith and good luck with everything.

Kinda hard for me to feel too bad for you since at the current time all I know about the other lady was that she made a mistake, took the blame for it, and offered to make it right, yet you're personally attacking her for it.

Glad you, and everyone else, seems to be mostly alright.
