Default 1984 with missing motor

So I found a nice car but the motor is missing. I was told it was pulled to use in a street rod project. Everything seems to be there nothing cut up or hacked out when removed. What is an easy swap for the tuned port motor.

Hi, First an 84 had a dual throttle body injection intake, (crossfire) not a TPI engine. Second, I would look for carbed sbc, drop it in and go....

So it was a cross fire injection not a tuned port. Good to know. Does anyone make a kit to swap in an LS. I have done several. But not in a late model corvette.

Do a search on LS swap as long as you need a motor go big. Carburetors are for old school cars

Didn't see much on an LS swap. this has got to becoming a popular swap? Maybe not?

yep. have seen both of those. looks like corvette central was working on a swap kit. But not sure if it was ever developed to be sold as a kit.

What's all missing besides the engine? Do you have manifolds, belt driven accessories, air cleaner, wiring harness?
If you don't go with an LS, I'd really consider a 96-00 vortec 350.

IMHO - Your EASIEST route is to drop in a SBC (350 or maybe a 383) - and then if you really want to use Fuel Injection - go with an aftermarket set-up (e.g FAST / Holley / MSD). The factory Throttle Body injection motors weren't great - even when new - and a carbed 350 can easily make 1 HP per cubic inch with a decent intake, headers and a half way decent exhaust, a good set of heads, and a nice mild streetable cam.

There are a number of threads on LS swaps - but there is still a lot of fabricating going on by the installers - and only you can decide if that extra hassle involved in putting an LS motor in the car is really worth it.

You need to match fuel pump with fuel system to be used. The crossfire fuel pump would support carburetor application with a fuel pressure regulator. It doesn't make enough pressure ( less than 20psi) for a MPFI system.

A later L98 fuel pump will swap right in, I would check or replace the rubber parts of the lines due to age and they were not made to support the higher pressure.
