Default Procharged FRC Build

Ive been gathering parts for this build for about a year now. Some parts came off my Formula when it was procharged and others are new. My goals are to make 900 or so rwhp and make a fun roll car. Purchased this car in 2013 with 27k miles on it and have driven it everywhere and it now has 130k miles.

This build consists of the following:

1999 A/W FRC
Iron 5.7/k1 rods and crank/wiseco pistons(10.2:1)
Jam cam
Afr heads
Ls6 intake/stock tb
Holley rails/fic1300 injectors/-10 feed -8 return/custom fuel with dual 450’s/e85
Procharger f1a/Innovators west 10 rib balancer/a@a bracket 10 rib/a@a secondary drive/treadstone intercooler/big red bov
Dewitts radiator stock fans
TDP 6060 conversion
McLeod rxt1200
Kooks 2’’ Headers

A couple of weeks ago I got an awesome deal on installing the drivetrain and secondary drive which I cant thank Bad Chad enough as this saved me a lot of time and headaches.

What I have been working on the past couple of days has been fabbing the piping, mounting the intercooler, reworking the factory radiator cradle, and coming up with a shroud that Im going to have bent up out of aluminum.

Im gonna start posting pics now that I actually have some progress to show.

Stock fan shroud trimmed on the passenger side

Stock cradle torn apart to push radiator mount forward about and 1.5"

Radiator now sits below inlet

Mount moved forward

About 2.5" of space between the IC and condenser

Fabbing the piping

Intercooler mounted and bumper notched

4" from I/C to TB

Clearance between I/C and condenser/radiator hopefully running hot wont be an issue

Bov placement

Simple yet effective brackets

10 rib looking nice

Plenty of space

Yesterdays project included mocking up a shroud out of posterboard and cardboard that I will have made at a local fab shop.

Also going to have a small strip welded to the bottom of I/C to deflect air to it as well. I may put a slight angle on it not sure yet.

Question for you boosted fellas. My plan was to run a -12 fitting on the valvecovers to the same peterson breather can I used on my firebird. I bought this pretty cool aluminum windshield wiper reservoir the other day that was being used for methanol. Do you all thing it could serve the purpose of the breather can? I could easily weld to -12 fittings on the side of it. It has some sort of baffling already inside. Only thing I see i would need would be to replace the cap with some kind of filter so it can breathe. Thoughts or input?

This what i used previously

Two -12 fittings can easily be welded on the sides

Replace this cap with a screw in breather

Baffling?

Good luck on your build. I would be a little worried about your crank though. Big power and blowers don't go well with the lower end forged cranks. The added stress makes them flex and take out bearings. I know for sure it happens with compstar cranks. Happened to my car and a few others I know of. Maybe the k1 will do better but I would be worried. If you have time to change it, look into a better crank.

Any info on the aluminum washer tank you have? I see a sticker on it for who made it but no real info inline.

Car should be a beast

This is a moroso tank that you can find pretty easy. I'd like to have a washer tank to match... If you get a hold of them forward the info on there is interest in making that tank. I bet they could sell a few if the price is fare.

I used Fore’s low profile 8AN 180* fitting with .300” shorter motor mounts and it clears the firewall with room to spare.

Edit: Pic for reference

those shorter mounts really make a big difference. I may have found a local machine shop to cut the rail down some and retap and cut the oring chamfer Ill find out monday.

Still waiting on a couple items to show up shipping times suck right now. I did manage to mod my rail and fore fitting and now i have a little over an inch of clearance between rail and firewall.
