I'm considering painting my calipers on an upcoming weekend (2007 Atomic Orange C6 Convertible). Will do this with wheels off, calipers on vehicle, and lots of masking. Cannot decide on caliper color. Thinking either yellow, body color, black or red. Would like to also paint contrasting color on raised lettering. Color combination opinions?

I’d go with matte black on the rotors and gloss black for the calipers. Maybe body color as second choice. Anything else won’t look right with orange, and you already have black top and stripes to tie it all together. Lettering in silver or body color?

IMHO you have 3 choices.
Silver, Black, Orange. These three would also go well with your stripes. If you really want a more custom look you can do a combo like silver with orange letters.

Yellow or red would look weird to me personally.

If it were me, I'd go with black or body-color orange, with black as the first choice. You could even get creative and do black with orange lettering.

+1 for body color. Black letters would look great.

I would go with the opposite of black rotors and orange lettering.

Here is what I did with my CRM vert;

Body color calipers
semi gloss black brackets
semi gloss black rotor hats
raw aluminum for the letters

I then clear coated the calipers with a 2 part automotive clear

I have gotten a few compliments on this combo.

On yours I would do the same but do the letters in black.

Had my calipers done in Inferno Orange to match the body color of my GS. The shop also created Corvette caliper decals in black. Awesome look!

I would match the body color.

Look at post #10. Just use garbage bag to cover the rest of rotor and surrounding area no taping required.

In your case you could go with orange instead or red

I'm going to do mine before I put mine back on the road in the spring. I also have the atomic orange and have seen color matched Atomic Orange caliper covers but saw them on another C6 and thought they looked a bit cheesy. I thought about black and just polishing the raised Corvette and clear coating after.

I think either body color or "classic" red. Yellow wouldn't really look all that good with orange, and black is sort of hard to see.

It might be tough painting the raised letters on the calipers, I think. I suppose it could be done with a small fairly hard roller (the kind meant for trim), using very little paint at a time so you don't get runs. I think I'd just stick with the natural metal.

Your color car is tough, black no show, red clashes as does yellow, blue nope. IMHO a brilliant sliver with body color letters would be classy Good Luck

I did mine in gloss black with paint matched decals. I have debated on reversing that and doing paint matched caiplers and black decals.

I think chrome would be interesting and easy to keep clean if they were made. Stainless steel would be a nice choice on black wheels also.
