Default Tired of Hearing My Fob Hit the Ground

Tried a rubber band but now these. Other solutions? Any vets who can tell me the nomenclature of the can opener get extra points.....

It was called a P38
My key fob is not linked to anything and stays safely in my pocket. Never dropped and only pulled it out once to try the auto start.

I have the Cadillac fob holder and it also holds the key in place.

And the apocryphal story I remember is that the P38 was called that because it took 38 "punches" to open a can of C-rats. I'm guessing they became useless when MRE's were introduced?

I've had a P-38 on my key ring since the 1960's, but the FOB is carried separately and never falls out. I don't need to carry keys anymore at all.

Same here, I got P38s stashed everywhere, just in case. Old habits die hard...

I never carry extra keys on a ring with the fob...
I wear jeans a lot and I just tuck the fob in the watch pocket... have never dropped it.

Yes it should. You just press on the soft silicone for the top up/down.

Defaria, that's not the issue. The issue is that the weight of the key ring itself dislodges the metal cap because it is not well attached. My CTS key fob is made the same way, but detaching the two parts requires a little more force then the Corvette fob. If they'd used the same engineering they did on the Cadillac fobs this wouldn't be a problem. OP is not the first one to complain about this issue.

At least yours hits the ground. I loose mine and finally had to order an extra fob after I couldn't find Fob A.

This should work for you. I've had cheap ones that fall apart. I like this one better.

My C6 fob would not release the key, no matter how hard I squeezed the buttons, until one day I pulled hard enough to break the latch. Then it would just fall out.
So I used a Fob Jacket for a couple of years until the dealership found out, got me a new fob and reprogrammed all 3, covered by our GMPP warranty.

The Corvette seems to have gone from Too Tight on the C6 to Too Loose on the C7.
