So i see i need new plug wires,
Which are good ones that fit a 454 with hooker side pipes and hei real nice,
I would rather not make them myself this time,

I always prefer making my own. I have never found a kit that allows the wires to be routed neatly and are long enough. Making your own means it can look clean and neat and away from the exhaust.

Hey Bats,
I've been through many different brands of wires. The high temp Moroso plug wires are the only ones that I have found that don't burn through due to header heat or contact.
I have a small block and route my wires under the headers. The Moroso set came pre-assembled also.
Moroso Ultra 40 is the ticket.

I have a 496 bbc with Hooker sidepipes and HEI. I want to say that I used MSD wires with the multi-angle plug boots. I can check when I get home.

I prefer Taylor wires with 90 degree boots and I run mine underneath the headers. Custom fit will always work best but you can get a decent look with pre-cut kits specific to the engine combo.

I just installed a set of Accel wires with the ceramic plug boots. So far, so good. 2-1/8 primary Hooker headers. 1 and 3 are really close. I've only go about 2 hours running time so far, I'll update after a few more hours.

454, hooker 1 7/8" headers.
I had MSD 8.8 with the vari-angle boots for a while but recently found a burn-hole in 7 of the 8 boots.
Switched to Taylor 8mm with 135 dgr boots and they do clear the headers much better.
You really should get the cut-to-fit. Pre-made sets never fit right.

Like TimAt I just installed Accel ceramic wire last year and no burn issues, you have to make them your self though.I got the straight but I think the 135 degree would be better. I had to use 1 accel short plug by the steering box. They look neater when you do them yourself. Mike

MDS 31199 is the part #. I used ratcheting crimpers. Want to say these are them:

I was looking at those crimpers too- then I found that Accel has the same style crimpers WITH 3 different sets of jaws for less money. And at Summit.

I'm with TimAT on this one, I've tried many different types along with the ceramic plug extensions (don't remember the name of them).
The only boots that will hold up to the BB sidepipe headers (2 1/8" primaries) are the Accel ceramic boot plug wires.
I've had them on my car for a few years now and have only had to change one due to the wire pulling out of the boot.
There are a couple boots that are in direct contact with the headers and don't stand a chance of lasting unless they are ceramic.
You may stand a better chance if your headers are ceramic coated, I tried wrapping mine with header wrap but still had multiple boot failures due to hear until I installed the Accel ceramic boot wires.

I have made my own so I can't recommend a pre made set but I have 135 degree plug boots and never had a boot fail or even look damaged in over 6 years with a BB. I have used no sleeves until earlier this year when I found some sleeving from Thermal Control Products to insulate fuel lines and thought I would try it on #1and #3.

You can get this product with the seam on the inside. they have some pretty interesting products.

I bought Accel wires with the straight boots and cut and fit them. The straight boot seems to help keep the boot and wire away from the primary tube fairly well, never had any problems with mine.
