New best 9.86 @ 142 mph
We had another private track rental so it was time to head back out to try for my 9 second pass in this thing. Last time out I had a new best 60' of a 1.379 but the DA was just too high and I couldn't make it happen. Well the DA was only a few hundred feet better this time at 3700 ft but now I've got the Magnusson Heartbeat TVS 2300 on it. We tried to pulley it so that the boost level would be approximately what it was with the stock blower overspun like on my last passes but the closest we got was ~1 to 1.5 psi higher. At least this blower is barely working up a sweat at this boost level compared to the stock one. The fuel system is DONE at this power level with the high side barely hanging on with 50% ethanol and a single large meth nozzle. With the new found power I just couldn't get it to hook as well as before which I kind of thought was going to happen anyways but it was good enough to hit my goal.

Are you holding the wheel crooked to counter the torque steer or is the wheel alignment just off?

I am holding it crooked because for some reason that's how it drives straight with the skinnies on there. With the regular wheels/tires the wheel is straight to go straight. The camera angle with the wide lens makes it look way worse than it is though.

Oh it's got a ton more in it, this unit should be capable of making 850-900 rwhp with heads/cam, etc. I'm barely using it at this point since I have it pullied to try to mimic the factory blower for comparison purposes. Before the heartbeat I ran a best of 10.002 @ 139.7 but that was at 2200 ft DA, this was at 3700 ft DA so a big difference.

Bad *** results. Especially for +3700. Car sounds flawless going down the track. Excellent shifting..
That car at our private rentals here would be going 9.40-9.50s right now. We had -800’ DA for our rental last weekend.
Nice job on it Nic.
Do you have a wideband on the car or just tuned off of the dyno’s tail pipe WB?

Interesting how different the dash and pdr speedos are. I just stopped the video at a random spot and the dash speedo reads 37 and the pdr 51. Is that typical? Or because of mods? Does the dash speedo not keep up? Seems like an awfully big difference.

Nicely done my friend! You've really got that baby dialed in, unbelievable MPH given the DA!
I'm still going to have to find a way to sneak out with you guys on these private rentals so that I can actually try an all out pass with my Monte!

Thanks guys, it so far has exceeded my goals and expectations so not sure how much further I want to go with it as of now. I'm working on the C6Z and that is going to be the more serious drag strip car so that's taking all of my monies.
I can't even imagine this thing in -800' DA! Thanks. I have a wideband in the car that I make adjustments off of.

The dash digital speedo readout has a lag, the dash needle does not. I'm sure the faster the car is the worse it would be.

Thanks! I had to make a good adjustment to the 1-2 shift to get it to complete in time since it gets there so quickly along with a few other things.

Awesome. As much as I wanted to resist to adding aftermarket electronics to this car, I know its a necessity... I'll probably load it all in the cubby as well.
I sure don't look forward to installing/wiring all that **** up in this car.
Is the NGauge getting the E% from the PCM or directly from the flex fuel sensor itself and converting the data?
I haven't seen anyone use the NGauge on Vettes yet, I'm interested in that setup.

I really think the hero in this story is the guy bolting the blower on the day after thanksgiving
