Default Which car is more reliable?

Hi,

I currently debating between a 2013 Corvette GS 3lt and a 2017 Mustang GT premium. Both are automatic, and I won't be putting any mods on the car other than a catback exhaust. Yes I know this is a corvette forum, but which car out of the two do you guys think is more reliable? I just want a car I can ride 100k miles with no problem.Which car would you guys pick and why? Any opinion would be appreciated <3.

Gee let's see which one has the best warranty.....

The 5 year old car....

or

The brand New car with 3 year 36,000 mile B2B, 100000 mile power train warranty.
Dumb question. If you are looking for someone to tell you to buy the corvette........... Buy the Corvette.

I bought a Corvette because they are the King of the Road as far as affordable cars go. Everybody has a mustang.

Test drive both. maybe rent both for a weekend comparison. Left stock both are reliable with their own idiosyncrasies.

My opinion....and I hope I don't get flamed for this but the corvette especially the wide body GS looks way better than any mustang imo. Only you can answer this question, test drive both and decide.

As we say in the Motorcycle world. Buy which one speaks to you. I am going thru the same thing myself about a C6 or C7. Then again a Mustang or Camaro has a little more practical use as you can actually take it to the grocery store... Then again Something Japanese would be utra reliable... :^)

Why can't you take a C6 to the grocery store???? I take mine every chance I get. Those back seats in the Mustang and Camaro are merely a tiny bit more storage space.

Corvette has two seats compared to 4, but the C6 has a lot of trunk space (more than Mustang). Check insurance on both cars, Corvettes may be cheaper because younger drivers can afford Mustangs and wreck them more often then old farts with gold chains.

I was looking at a C7 but I found my old 13 GS 4LT, drove it and bought it. I never considered a Mustang/Camaro but that is just me.

Reliability wise? Someone just donated their Corvette to the museum and it had about 3/4 million miles on it. They had to rebuild the tranny like 3 times.

*I take my Motorcycle with saddlebags shopping also, even to Costco. Not having ever owned a Vette before - I naturally thought the Mustang or Camaro had more usable storage for shopping trips. I would love to be wrong about this as I am much more drawn to the Vette.

I had 1 Mustang. It was the worst car I've ever had. Constant problems, and the dealer service was deplorable at several dealers.

I'm now on my 3rd Corvette, and there will be more. Much better cars in every way.

I've got a 13 Corvette GS 3LT and I really enjoy it . . . but its my weekend toy, not my daily driver. I know people do it, but in my life I could never make it with a 2 seater as my daily driver . . . nor would I want to.

The technology in the 3LT is certainly a bit dated ( for example, no audio Bluetooth streaming ) but still functional. I'm sure the Mustang is more advanced. That may be important. But if you can get by with a 2 seater the Vette is great fun and plenty reliable.

Good luck.

I want to believe you are serious with your question so I'll try to give you a serious answer by pointing out a couple of obvious issues. First, the GS (I own a '11 GS) is 4+ years older than the Mustang and well out of warranty. Second, you've not stated the mileage difference so that alone makes this question almost impossible to answer.

I think the real answer is this: Which would you rather walk out to, a late model pony car that looks like a million others or a world class sports car? Almost everyone on this forum has voted for the Corvette, one way or another. OBD

I have owned many mustangs and still not sure why Corvettes are being compared to them. One is a sports car and the other is a pony car. It feels totally different and a COMPLETELY different type of car.

Pick the car that trips your trigger. We have a 13 GS 3LT MN6 convertible, a 15 Camaro 2SS RS automatic convertible. a 14 Malibu and a 69 Camaro SS, 350 TKO 600 5 Speed. We have each car for it's own use. All of them have their ups and downs. To each their own but I have never owned a Ford or Chrysler product and never will. But that's just me.
