Newer 1999 Arctic White 6spd Owner
A few months back my quest to find a C5 6spd started, owning a couple of SS Sedans I have been a member of ssforums for a few years. I turned to this CF right away to get more info on the C5 and I must say there is a plethora of info here that I am very grateful for.
I ended up finding a stock 99 Arctic White 6 speed up in Colorado with a really good carfax history, ~66k miles and owned by a mechanic, flew up there after going back and forth on info and price a couple of months ago and pulled the trigger. Drove my c5 back to Vegas thru the mountains with zero issues or speeding tickets and was quite the adventure.
Got rid of the wagon wheels and horrible handling run flats, replaced with 5 spokes I bought local, powder coated slate grey and wrapped the center caps with carbon fiber and red middle, red didn't come out as deep as I would like but good enough for now. Running General G-MAX AS-05 for tires which handle pretty decent for the price and hardly any sliding around under 60 degrees unlike summer tires. Tinted the car with Suntek ceramic tint 20% and removed the chrome corvette letters. Done for now.
I may replace the windshield in the future which as too many chips for my taste, and possibly put on a exhaust but honestly I am digging how low profile the c5 is hitting on it opposed to my 17 SS that is a beast sound wise and very noticeable.
Overall thanks again, everything from replacing a windshield, oil dipstick only accurate on one side, creaking steering wheel, nochy T56 that slips out of gear if not put in correctly, de-chroming corvette letters, death rattle, etc, etc, it's all on this forum which is why I have been silent, but just want to say thanks for all the info. I learn more every day about my C5 thanks to CF, about this 19 year old car that I like driving better than my 2017 SS Sedan over two months later.
A few before and current pics.

Congrats on the "new" C5!! I'm partial to any white Corvette, but I must say that AW is my favorite color (even though mine is Speedway White).
Enjoy every mile and welcome!!

Congrats on the new ride!!!! Nothing like a long trip being the first trip. A great way to "get to know" the new toy!! Mine was 11 hours, 700+ miles, and like you, no tickets either!!
Enjoy!!
