Best 12 volt compressor?
I guess I better carry a 12 volt compressor in the trunk along with a plug kit and a can of "Fix-a-Flat." Question is which kit to buy? I heard stories about blowing fuses being a problem. So, which kit is reliable and won't blow any fuses? What do you guys carry? Small, compact, cased and easy to use?

If you are concerned about blowing a fuse or drawing down your battery, get a cordless inflator. Really handy.
Or a combination jump starter and compressor:

I just got the Ryobi inflator pictured above:

Only $20 if you already have a Ryobi battery.

I ended up with the Slime X2, which is a twin cylinder model that comes with a nice hard case. I don't know the exact specs, but when I air back up after running the truck in the dunes, it's pretty fast. Does require a direct connect to the battery, but I wouldn't try using a cigar lighter adapter for a compressor, unless you have all day.

I carry a Campbell-Hausfield air compressor I bought at Wal-Mart. Haven’t had any problems using it.

I have a Kensun D1001.
What I like about it is;
- it's very affordable at $25-$30 so if it breaks its easy to replace.
- it's small & easy to use. It easily stows away in a side rear bin.
- it has both 12v and wall outlet provisions and switches between each one with a switch.
I run it every so often seasonally just to keep it going and ensure it works, usually to adjust tire pressures for the season.

Got this one - https://www.harborfreight.com/12v-10...sor-69284.html - from Harbor Freight. Works great. Used it to inflate two Ram 3500 dually tires to 50lbs (from dead flat) in the parking lot of harbor freight. Was a believer then.
