Default ZR1 performance out of a Z06 with mods?

I haven’t checked the forums lately so please excuse me if this has been discussed, my question is what is the minimum one can spend to get the same horse power and torque as the new ZR1 with mods in the Z06?

Also are there currently any vendors with potential pricing to convert the Z06 to look more like the ZR1 front end?

Thank you!

Well around 10-12k has it covered pretty well if one can do some of the installing. My mod list

2 inch ARH Jethot coated headers. Don't skip the coating it is a big deal for cooler underhood temps and uncoated headers look like crap.
Nice weight reduction as well!
MAMO Or other good PTB. 100 or more CFM of flow

The Halltech intake
The Magunsen 2300 Heartbeat keeps the same hood and adds a big boost in power while reducing weight and lower ITA's
while easy making the 14 -15 pounds of boost you need.

Extra cooling I like the new tank from CPR and the Weapon X heat exchanger
You need some type of extra fueling. I'm trying a large bore fuel pump from Ligenfelter. I want to stay on pump gas and a little octane boost.

A tune is the most important from some one well versed in tuning the C7
Should be more than enough and be very dependable.

We have packages already out and proven that will provide you with a 10.0x car in AZ with just bolt on's. Heck even our simple pulley, headers, Cai cars go upper 10's here in the good months. For cooling we make a very high quality heat exchanger and expansion tank.

Default ZR1-Power

Several ways to get there for about $5k or so. Here is one way: Tune, CAI, headers, pulley

Or u can try this: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...c-package.html

Callaway can bump your numbers from 650/650 to 757/777 while providing a warranty.

Cosmetics and cooling? See LG Motorsports or, if I recall correctly, G Speed.

I'd say a 'Driver Mod' would put you ahead of ~85-90 % of ZR1 drivers.

I can only answer your first question. Spent about $2100.
I did the front cat delete pipes (used), 18% IW pulley, Haltech CAI and a Pat Guerra dyno tune. No meth, no E85 only 93 octane.
657 rwhp & 756 rwtq.
That's only slightly north of the ZR1 figures.

I ordered a 2019 Z06/Z07 and added the Callaway package. Some would say I wasted 17k with the Callaway Package and could of did less expensive mods for the same results as the Callaway package, but it was all about the warranty and what I wanted.

Very True. Most people that mod their Corvettes can't drive them at the stock power level let alone at a higher power level. Besides, the ZR1 is more than just engine mods and getting all of the required mods installed to equal the ZR1s performance level probably will cost more than just selling the Z06 and purchasing a ZR1. If all the owner is interested in is a 2 or 3 second blast on the highway or a 12 second blast on a drag strip the goal maybe achievable with some lower cost engine mods, but, if the owner is interested in overall performance then the cost goes up quite a bit, since wheels, body work and cooling mods all have to be included.

We just made 719whp with cam, headers, intake and 15% OD. Added e85 kit will update with numbers after we put it on the dyno a little later today.

Other mods- LG Cooling package w/ twin intercoolers, oil cooler, coolant expansion tank, high capacity oil pan, sway bars, drop spindles, monoball control arm inserts, G2 Bilstein/Hyperco coilovers, dual inlet spindle duct brake cooling, splitter, side skirts, GT2 rear wing, new LG front splitter w/ tunnel and lightweight racing clutch. I think there is more but that covers the majority of upgrades.

No matter what you do to a z06, it STILL won't be a zr1..... not to mention modifying your car doesn't add value or resale, it greatly reduces both. And then..... what if the zr1 is modified too? Lol

I don't think anyone here is concerned about value. They are both just corvettes. They will lose value quickly. I think we just like to **** away money for fun :-)

I think we all know that! Some of us big boys who make up our own minds on what is the best cars are for themselves.

I have made a decision not to buy a ZR1. The ZR1 is long ways in price from a guy with a 2015 Z06. Who ever thought they were adding to the resale with mods?

The value is in the beholder. I feel a lot of value in the mods I have.
Plus I have bought another Z06 after thinking about a ZR1.

To me two Z06's one A8 one M7 gives me the best of the Corvette world.
For me the cost is less than 1 ZR1. 68k and my 2015 z06 with 28,000 miles would not get me a ZR1.. But it did get me an 2017 A8 I have a lot of enjoyment with two Z06's.
Having just 1 C7 of any models is a compromise in my book nothing better to cruise on the dinner date in more refined style with the A8 then next time pull out the modded Z06 M7 with a much more racey look and feel and sounds. 3 times as fun to drive.
But not the ticket for dinner dates at all.

I don't have any plans to track my cars. Actually the ZR1 and Z06 are 90 percent the same car.
The interior is the same, same dash less the Z06 silver accents and black backs on the comp seats. Give the Z06 the better looking car inside and out. Styling on the ZR1 with the huge front hood and front bill , let alone the tall wing are not my choice's for a good looking car.
If you give me a ZR1 I would sell it sorry! IMO It is the only one that counts!
The horsepower I always increase anyway. Since I just use my cars on streets and hi-ways no tracking. I see no advantage in having a ZR1 over the Z06. ESP when you can have 2 Z06's.

OK, I'll bite!!

I've done multiple cooling mods, 15% lower 2.31 upper, Halltech with ram air, ported TB and Snout, BBE ceramic coated Headers, mid pipe and exhaust...

Tuned on Torco/91 with Meth.

I'm making 13.1 pounds (same boost as the ZR1) with zero slip, no cats and headers means no back pressure.

Runs just fine, and temps are NOT a problem on full road course sessions at 90 degrees...

Just fine with me! I daily drive both my cars. The kool-aid is good stuff!
Plenty was flowing when the Z06 first came out as well! For reasons already mentioned the Z06 is the better daily driver and choice for me.
If you buy a single ZR1 M7 you are missing out on the A8 and vise versa!

There is much more enjoyment in the second car than one with a huge hood and another 100 hp.
My M7 is already very close to 650 RWHP!
The next and maybe last Corvette will be the 850hp ME.
