Default BCM swap/interchange?

Question:
Can I swap a BCM from a 2004 Z06 into my 2004 base M6 coupe?

Reason:
I have not been able to locate a local dealership that is willing to turn off the TPM code in the BCM (even though the sensor are already removed and I'm running non-runflats). So my next thought is to get a BCM from a 2004 Z06 (ie: not programmed for TPM from factory) and swap that in.

It might be less expensive to find some one local with a Tech2 who will turn it off for a few $. If you get a new BCM, you have to find someone with a Tech2 to program your VIN into it anyway.

I have a friend with an old Tech2. We looked but couldn't find the option (couldn't even find the TPS menu) to turn them off. He thinks it's because his Tech2 is old and doesn't have the latest updates.

I'd be more than happy to purchase a Tech2 clone if I knew it would be able to access the functions.

I bought a tech2 clone about a month ago, and I recall seeing the TPMS option. 2001 Corvette.

Cool. Can you PM a list of what and where you got your clone? I've been seriously contemplating buying one but been burned on knockoffs that failed to perform as intended.

Out of curiosity, did you follow the instructions online? As I recall, it was not straightforward getting to the TPMS menu. If it can access up to year 2004, it should be able to change C5 BCM settings.

I bought mine from DHGate. https://www.dhgate.com/product/top-r...se1%7C20171208

Currently have a $40 DHGate coupon I'm trying to figure out what to use on, it might be account specific though.

I don't own/have never owned a Tech II. My statement regarding clones not working is related to other clones for other vehicles/makers.

Yeah. Word for word. He couldn't even see the TPMS pressure output (couldn't scan them). It was if the car didn't have them (yet it clearly does).

I can't comment on that as I have never seen one and the info on this is vague

MDI requires a subscription to use if I recall correctly.

I would see if you can update your friend's Tech2 with this: https://www.tech2wiki.com/doku.php?i...able_for_tech2
